Hop in the City '03: Hazy orange. Chewy sticky malt aroma with light pears and sweet honey. Light maltiness on the tongue, while bitterness rules the finish, and it is seemingly from the west coast, good and interesting interpretation. Gregis (1281) - Stilwell, Kansas, USA - APR 25, 2008
Pours a crystal clear light copper with a thin off-white head. The nose is a muted but pleasant bready malt with a light floral hop note in support. The palate is light+bodied and thin with a moderately dry finish. The flavor is of slightly sweet, bready malt ending with a light touch of bittering hops. A nice example of the style. csbosox (1229) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - NOV 5, 2005
KC tasting. Gold color, off white rocky head. Light malt, light spice, Caramelly, sweet finish. MaxPower (961) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 9, 2002
Maltier than I expected sweet taste balanced with alot of hops. I'm not sure if this is a light Oktoberfest style, very malty.I love this beer. xmarcnolanx (940) - Kirkwood, Missouri, USA - MAR 29, 2008
Aroma is slightly hoppy, sweet malty.
Pours a dark honey brown color with nice lacing.
Taste is slightly sweet, malty, very small touch of hops.
Very solid for the style.

Pours a clear amber with spare head and little lacing. Aromas of caramel malt heavy, with some light, flower hops. Medium bodied with sticky mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Moderately sweet and lightly acidic. I enjoyed this one! MOboy (504) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - SEP 22, 2002
Somewhat lacking in personality. Typical american interpritation where the hop dominates. Jake Barnes (456) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - SEP 30, 2002
No substance or style. Nothing like Great Lakes' excellant Eliot Ness. This one is just dull. alcaponejunior (438) - Texas, USA - FEB 20, 2012
Clear and amber with a pretty good head and lacing. Sweet and richly malty, with a touch of fruit and some bready notes. Hop balance was nice. Body was light and extremely drinkable. I don’t remember the ABV but I think it was light and highly sessionable. A great beer for lunch at the taproom! rdawson321 (145) - USA - APR 20, 2006
Reddish amber in color, with a good sized, short-lived head. My first Vienna style beer. Sweet and fruity on the nose and slightly bitter, yet crisp, on the finish.
