3.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dominating banana. Thin head. Cloudy and hazy. Delicious. Citrus harness. Persistent white head.
About as good as the average German weizen. Some citrusyness and subtle spicing. Mild and light overall. seymour (2120) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - SEP 17, 2012
Sampled on tap at the 2012 Schlafly Hop In The City festival. It poured a hazy light golden color with fluffy white foam, long-lasting with lace. Absolutely huge banana aromas, very faint clove and black pepper, grain harvest, rising bread dough, freshly-baked white bread, light noble hops. Flavor was tart, wheaty, nice balance of malt sweetness to tangy hops bitterness, pleasant chalky yeast impression. An awesome Hefeweizen, but if it’s meant to be a Berliner Weissbier, it’s not nearly tart/sour/acidic enough. Whatever the case, this was really, really tasty. I realize this wasn’t an odd-ball spicy festival beer or prized high-grav offering, but it was my favorite beer of the day. I waited in line three or four times, and plan to go purchase a growler at the brewery. patrick767 (4194) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 27, 2011
bottle sampled at Brew Haven fest - Pours hazy straw color and has an aroma of spice and yeast. The flavor is sweet with banana and clove notes. It’s light bodied, bubbly, and good. andyhwcinc (1886) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 11, 2011
Enjoyed on tap at Schlafly Tap Room in St Louis, MO as part of a sampler. Appearance a darker yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma faint but banana and clove come out in the mix. Taste is good, traditional German weiss with the banana and clove notes. Last to sample at Schlafly and they’re all winners!

12 oz. bottle. A cloudy golden orange with a decent white head. A big aroma of cloves with some yeast. Flavor is very much per style. Cloves, banana, yeast, butter, and lemon. A zesty mouth feel. This is a flavorful rendition of a classic. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2011
On tap at the Taproom on 4/30/2011. Arrived a bright, hazy yellow with a dense white head on top. Strong clove, wheat and light banana notes were noted in the nose. Flavor was kinda plain. Clove spiciness comes through, albeit watered down by the thin wheat flavor, early in the taste. Light banana esters finish it off in the end. Body is thin with low carbonation and a slight water feeling. Overall just an okay beer. Wheat is nice with the clove but the body is severely lacking to help hold up the flavors. A bit shocked that there is 6.6% alcohol in this brew as there really isn’t much there to cover the higher alcohol. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAY 11, 2011
(12oz bottle, courtesy of Exiled) Pours a cloudy yellow body with a medium white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, and vanilla. Flavor of banana, wheat, florals, clove, and subtle citrus. satan165 (1020) - River Grove, Illinois, USA - MAY 4, 2011
growler fill from tap room. aroma is zestly lemon, rye like spice. clove prevelant, no phenols, no banana. appearance is ultra hazy straw yellow, consistent head. flavor is thin, dry, harsh, bitter. no sweetness, no fruits. over attenuated? mouthfeel lacks the creamy component i enjoy in the style. not much left here but i think this had some life, once. Has a nice Banana estery sort of aroma. Pours pineapple cloudy and leaves some lacing. Nice burst of spice flavor on the tongue. Doesn’t linger as long as i’d like. This is a much better hefe than the stuff they call a hefe.
