Can. The following is a compilation of a dozen peoples’ thoughts who shared this brew with me at my first (and perhaps last?) Malt Liquor Dexterity Games Tournament to celebrate my birthday. Keeping in mind that most of the participants are not regular beer raters, here we go: pale yellow, smells like a cooked egg, sweet grains, metal, sulphur, quite foul and harsh, I may have had worse but the night is young, very sulpurous lager, I’d rather drink Schlitz Gay, even Apu wouldn’t sell this, nose of old lady, I think I Schlitz’d myself, a light summery beer, taste like Schlitz, titilating hint of sulphur, spilled some and didn’t clean the floor and I’m not sorry, high drinking. beer_rookie (635) - Arkansas, USA - FEB 7, 2017

Pours a very clear, very straw color. Good lacing, good retention. White head, about two fingers.
Arona is corn, sweet alcohol. Grape skin.
Taste is corn and grape skin. Sweet, malty, low hops.
Mouthfeel is medium full. Heavy, sweet. Easy to drink.
Overall, good. May or may not buy again, may recommend. Beer!
Can split at CCii, thanks LKS, 05/03/16.
Clear golden with a well appointed off White cap.
Nose is grain, lemon splash, cereals.
Taste comprises apple pie, grain, straw, faint bread, trace of citric peel, fluoride, glue.

Can share at Cotteridge Wines, with thanks to Leighton. As ’Schlitz High Gravity VSL’, 8.5%. Clear yellow pour, still with a small foamy white head. Aroma is sweetcorn and varnish. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is apple, light malt, sickly sweet, a touch spicy with a soft bitterness. Not very good.

Can at Cotteridge Convention 2. Thanks to Leighton for this style whopper. Pours golden with thin white head which dissipates quickly. Aroma of corn, farts and apple. Tastes of varnish and apple and a little malt. Not the best. Beersiveknown (5301) - NORTHERN IRELAND - MAR 8, 2016
Bottle shared at Cotteridge Tasting II (2016), cheers Leighton!Scopey (15427) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2016
Sharp, cider like aroma, pouring clear pale blonde with a white lacing. Fruity, vegetal, heavy and sweet not aided by low carbonation - starts off fairly decently, reckon a few drops of bittering extract could help it.
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2016 Can at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. “Cellared” for a year or two by Leighton….. It pours clear gold with a thick white head. The aroma is musty, rather farty, sweetcorn, boiled veg, white bread & butter, graininess and nail varnish. The taste is crisp, bitter – sweet, boosty raw alcohol, paint stripper, tangy fruits, chemically/acetone vibe and apple with a dry, hot finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit rough and sweet, not the “very smooth” experience I was hoping for. RichTheVillan (8109) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 6, 2016
Can at CWC II; clear yellow pour with a big white head, sweet grain and malt aroma, taste has cereal, straw, some biscuits, sweet malts. Leighton (22019) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 6, 2016
Can shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. This one I picked up in the US. Pours perfectly clear yellow with a big, frothy white head. The nose has sugary cereal, dough, light lemon. Medium sweet flavour, sugary, with doughy white bread, some apples. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming in the finish, with ripe citrus, white bread, accents of melon. Good malt liquor.
