Since 2001, contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio), as Pabst no longer owns a brewery of its own. The old time Schlitz purchased from Stroh’s which was purchased from Joseph Schlitz. Different than Schlitz Malt Liquor.

There is also a listing for "Schlitz Classic 1960s Formula". Please note version, and rate in the appropriate entry.

Going through old beers With nostalgia this morning. Pretty much bad even for bad beer standards. Piss and cardboard.

Bright yellow pour from draft at Baumgartner in Monroe, WI. White creamy head. Fruit and wheat aroma. Balanced lager. Expected it to be gross and it wasn't. Had it before a bunch of times but forgot about it

This was recently brought back to South Carolina with the "Classic 60s Formula" tag removed. Was the recipe changed again???tastes of sugary malt, corn, and barley. It does not taste like the great beer I had 2 years ago which was Schlitz Gusto.

Chugged a pound of this testing beers for the beer mile. Nothing redeeming about this swill

"pee water all the way here. had it in a can, so no skunk, but GAWD is it horrible. Again, why bother...there’s gotta be better ways to get a buzz, right? gotta be..."

This is what I drank as a teenager in New York when I didn’t know better, couldn’t afford anything else, and didn’t have much choice. Typical boring lager.

12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with a small sized head. Yep, it’s a Schlitz!

Again, drank a lot of this in college before developing a real palate. Gold pour with skunked grains on the nose and palate.

alexsdad06 (10586) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 26, 2014
Bottle from old backlog notes 07. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a medium sized white head. Typical sweet grainy, corn, light grassy aroma of macro pale lagers. Moving on.

onceblind (10097) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 28, 2014
Page crystal golden with a bubbly head like cola. Inoffensive pale malt aroma. Inoffensive pale malt and light wheat flavour. Dry, sorta refreshing, very light bitterness. I feared it would be worse, however this is actually ok. Better than BMC, for sure.
