Since 2001, contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio), as Pabst no longer owns a brewery of its own. The old time Schlitz purchased from Stroh’s which was purchased from Joseph Schlitz. Different than Schlitz Malt Liquor.

There is also a listing for "Schlitz Classic 1960s Formula". Please note version, and rate in the appropriate entry.

Meh. Not a bad beer, but absolutely nothing exciting. There’s a hint of skunk in the aroma and a slightly bitter metallic aftertaste that kept me from giving it a higher rating. I viewed it for what it is and didn’t compare it to other brews. Fairly refreshing and a decent thirst quencher on a hot day. But that’s about it.

From old tasting notes. Bright medium gold color. Big bubbles lead to a creamy white head. Very light grainy malt nose with a hint of sour apple. Tart inoffensive malt/hop flavor. Some zest initially, but it fades quickly. Light dry finish.

From old beer log. Can pours golden with a white head. Aroma of grains and caramel with a few floral notes. Taste is grains

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2016 Poured into dof tumbler, small bubbles with overall lively carbonation. Medium-light bodied, overripe citrus, baking sourdough bread.

Originally rated on 9/19/08. Pretty average american macro, comparable to the buds, coors and millers of the world. Flavor of corn, a little malt and hops. Not the worst thing out there.

This is the rebound of an ancient 60’s Classic. Gone is the ABM method that tanked this monolithic brew in the 80’s and 90’s. This brand has been re-re-born promising to echo yesterday-years greatness by embracing those Druidic incantations and magical utterances used prior to the greedy catastrophe. Not found in Virginia - yet - but soon...soon...soon

Can sent to me as a joke, but I’m actually quite glad I got to try this! Pours clear light yellow with a lot of white foam that quickly disappears. Corny taste. Slightly earthy hop nose with a hint of butter in the nose. Metallic finish.

I had this one in New Orleans. It’s a light beer and I thought it was kind of a joke. It’s bad.

Going through old beers With nostalgia this morning. Pretty much bad even for bad beer standards. Piss and cardboard.

kaser (6312) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 29, 2015
Bright yellow pour from draft at Baumgartner in Monroe, WI. White creamy head. Fruit and wheat aroma. Balanced lager. Expected it to be gross and it wasn't. Had it before a bunch of times but forgot about it
