Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown with no head. Moderate prickly fizz and a bit sticky on the lips. Chocolate and muscavado sugar and roasty malt up front. Warming sherry-like alcohol grows with a slight woody bitterness, although it’s sweet overall. Chalk at the end with an unfortunate hint of cheap lager. Finishes less well than it starts, but still a decent beer. Sdaniel90 (1096) - Mexico City, MEXICO - APR 11, 2016
Bottle, 33cl. Deep reddish with a frothy to minimal tan head. Aromas of dried fruits, roasted malts, alcohol. Robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Moderate to heavy sweet roasted character with moderate bitterness into a complex fruity and alcohol finish. Very pleasant. Lore (2870) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAR 9, 2016
ruby to mahogany colour, moderate sized creamy yellowish-beige-ish head; aroma of caramel, biscuits, dried fruits like figs and raising, herbal and medicinal notes and spicy alcohol; taste is the same with syrupy sweetness; good, although not easily drinkable rouhlas (3736) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - MAR 3, 2016
330 ml bottle. Dark cooper brown color with off white to light beige head. Malty aroma, light grainy notes in the beginning, caramel, light bready, fruity, dark dried fruits, light vinous, some chocolate notes when it gets warmer. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma with some alcoholic notes addition. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation. It becomes quite good when it gets warmer and breaths for some time. Bottle from secret santa Saeglopur, many thanks! Pours deep mahogany brown. Aroma is malty with toffee and dark fruit. Taste follows with nuts, brown sugar, a light earthiness, sweet berries, bit of wood and slightly vinous. Sweet, but not overly sweet, oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation. Very good complex doppelbock.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours dark brown with a thick bubbly, cola-esque head, and just as short-lived. Aromas of toffee, not much else. Taste is more toffee, caramel. Sweet finish. VsXsV (4528) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 18, 2015
Bottle, thanks Werckmeister! Clear very dark brown liquid with small to medium light tan head. Aroma of raw sugar, chocolate, licorice, red berries, pumpernickel, light ash, dried fruit and toast. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar, dried fruit, light roasted malt and light toast. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Unnecessarily high carbonation. Otherwise, pretty nice! bulldogops (2726) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 11, 2015
Rating #1272 - Rich blackbrown pour with a creamy tan head that bubbles away quickly. Aroma is roast malts, hint of chocolate and weak coffee, mild nuttiness (almond). Mild carbonation, medium-heavy alcohol warmth, little yeasty whiff as well. Palate is more malt character, nutty, chocolatey, quite bitter. Decent hoppiness - cool smokiness (almost peaty) on the finish. RW80 (2713) - Hoogeveen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2015
33cl bottle thanks to Saeglopur, (Eurio secretsummer santa 2015)
Appearance: nice deep mahogany beer with beige foam that quickly falls to a flimsy layer.
Aroma: light malts, hint of fruits. Weak aroma.
Taste:. Sweet Alcohol boozy upfront but mallowing out in a rich malt bouquet (roasted, caramelised malts), dark fruits kicking in and some sour notes, Then alcohol comes back and warms things out with some light coffee bitter tones finishing it off.
medium body, below average carbonation.
Nice rollercoaster ride with a few tricks you don’t expect in the palate allthough not perfect still a beer I would highley recommend as it does things in respect of the style, but with a nice twist.
