From bottle to a pint glass. Dark amber with some reddish tint, medium head. Alcohol and malt is the initial impression. Flavor continues that theme with a pleasant toasty malt with slightly sweet coffee. Finishes with just a hint of bitter. A very good doppelbock.

W smaku słodycz, karmel, bardzo dojrzała słówka, średnio do słabo wysycone. Goryczka niska. Alkohol dość dobrze ukryty. Aromaty chmielowe niewyczuwalne. Niezłe piwo ale trochę ulepek. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins and prunes. Rather sweet, malty, almost sugary and slightly fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, prunes and some brown sugar, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little alcoholic finish. Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain/nuts, espresso), with notes of nut shells. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, soft carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Almost more like an "imperial Schwarzbier"...very roasty and not quite as thick and sweet as most Doppelbocks. Forgettable, but decent.

330 ml. bottle @ home. BBF 04.2018. Very dark brown, ruby hue some deep mocha bubbles. Nose is massively cloying Christmas spices, sweet wood, herbal syrup, Christmas cake, pudding more massive DE herbal cloying sweetness. Taste is herbal sweet wood, cloves, low cinnamon, cardamom, Christmas spices, tastes like a cloying cabinet of sweet spices, cooked apple, herbal almost medicinal DE body, oily slick caramel cooked apple, herbal, thick caramel, oily, walnut oil. Massive. Bitter bark, oak. Not fully my thing but fascinating massive classical exercise that is quite brilliant in its own fashion. Bottle from de Caigny in Essen, Belgium. The beer is very dark brown to black colored and has a small and little unstable creamy head, with good carbonation.
The aroma is malty, with notes of caramel, roasted malts, dark fruits and a little smoke and chocolate.
The taste is full bodied with a sweetness with caramel and dried fruits. Near the end a light bitterness is noticable with some spicy and warming alcohol and some roasted and chocolate notes.
The finish is light bitter with some warming alcohol and is long noticable.
A little to sweet for me, but still I found it an enjoyable beer.
