Clear gold body with a thin white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Sweet aroma...caramel and just a touch of smoke. Medium mouthfeel, nothing too exciting. The flavor is okay. Sweet...corn and caramel. Really no smoke. Just a minor bite at the end. Meh.

meatmanmd (166) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - SEP 8, 2017
Clear amber, not very lasting white head. Aroma of caramel with earthy notes. Taste is light sweet, clean caramel malts and some woody bitterness in the finish. Not bad.

Ambrée, légère mousse. Nez caramel et leger vieux fruits. Gout caramel, levure, un peu chêne rapide et aqueux en bouche. Fin sur le caramel un peu astringente, voir artificielle. Corp leger.

Bottle 33cl. poured into a lager glass. Clear pale amber, mid-size frothy off-white head, dissipates slowly, good lacing; aroma toasted malts, caramel, candy sugar, light fruit (apricot, berries); taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, caramel, bit wood; sweetbitter aftertaste, malty, light woody notes maybe from whiskey barrels; medium body, oily to watery texture, soft carbonation; overall on the thin side, not really convincing.

Pours clear golden amber with a slightly off white head. Aroma of sweet malt and some toffee. Light. Taste is equally as sweet at first but goes into a decent hop bitterness.

Aus der Flasche getrunken mit dem Untertitel Whisky Malt Red Beer. Schönes Amber mit dichtem weißen Schaum. Nur sehr milde Anklänge an Whiskymalz. Gewisse Körperlichkeit ist nicht zu überschmecken.

330ml Flasche. Klar und dunkelgolden mit minimaler Schaumkrone. Etwas muffig. Süßlich. Mild. Leichter Körper.

Bottle, 16 months past the BBD. Pours hazy orangeish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with dusty and hoppy notes. Dusty onset with sweetish notes of yeast and malt and some fruity and acidic hints. Bitter touches of hops. Estery aftertaste with dusty hints. Not that bad for the style. Nothing illuminating, though.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2017 A bottle from Citysuper in the basement of Sogo at Zhongxiao Fuxing, drunk at home. Aroma: vegetable, slightly sour. Appearance: a lovely clear dark amber, practically no head. Palate: medium-bodied, rather oily texture, soft carbonation. The finish is astringent, noticable boozy for its ABV - is this the barrels? Taste: I can’t decide if it’s sweet or sour. I’m going to have to mark this one down, as I can’t abide whiskey, and the booze leaves a slightly unpleasant afterburn.

Nevalainen (821) - FINLAND - JAN 14, 2017
Expiracy date sep.2015. Cloudy orange color with white head. Aroma of caramel and malt. Light sweet taste of caramel and maybe whiskey. It has too light body to be a really good beer.
