Clear dark golden pour with a few yellowish bubbles for a head. Aroma of malts, caramel, toffee and apricot. Taste of syrupy malts, caramel, apricot, and a hint of green apple hiding behind all the sweetness. Medium carbonation and a heavy creamy mouthfeel. Really enjoyed this.
Beer has a malt/syrup scent to it. Beer tastes just like it smells, syrup, caramel, malt. It is also lightly carbonated and feels heavy. Even though it is 14% ABV, only a trace of alcohol is detected. Very sweet, and stretches the definition of beer, feels more like a Liqueur. The sweet taste is likeable, and for being this heavy is very drinkable-- so if you like it, the 14% content will reward you after a couple of these.... wheat syrup in a smooth sticky body that is remotely beery and with a bit of caramel i suppose. a real sipper it is sweet and powerful. edgallow (4154) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 7, 2017
Bottle pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is mostly alcohol but smooth. Tastes of toffee and dark fruit. BlackHaddock (7232) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 26, 2017
Monthly bottle share at Chez Sophie: 22nd May 2017. Four way split. Cheers Mat for the 75cl bottle from 2014. Sickly stuff really: wispy head on an amber body. Slick, syrupy and excedingly sweet throughout: even my sweet tooth winced half way through my quarter of the bottle. The alcohol level came through loud and clear too, could never drink a whole 75cl bottle on my own. minutemat (5401) - Shrewsbury, Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 22, 2017
75cl bottle as ’Limited Edition 2014’ edition @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie. Pours a deep misty amber, thin ring head. Aroma is lightly dusty boozy rich barley wine caramel. Taste is exceedingly rich, boozy slick caramel, candied sweet fruits. Powerful stuff.

330. bottle - tasting glass @ Meug Afterwork 2017. Tried it next to the classic which was better than I remember it being, not too different from this one but the classic carried a bigger malt body & touch more complexity. Interestingly this beer is 100 % clear dark amber, head is almost instantly gone. Nose is this extremely sweet cloying touch medicinal syrup, herbal, alcoholic, weir alcoholic plastic pear syrup. Taste is extremely sweet & syrupy, lightly medicinal herbal plastic pear, candy with faint rubbing alcohol, boozy, lager yeast, very sweet. Body is all malt, fruit syrup, low medicinal. Potent, bit of a baffling beer with the low medicinal extremely potent sweetness, feels like it needs age & oxidation. It was interesting, intense but still a bit odd. UPDATED: JAN 21, 2017 2015 bottle. Clear gold, no head. Sweet honey sugary aroma. Boozy and sticky, but not ridiculous. Candied sugar and a little booze. Hardcore ?beer?. Nice for a nightcap and sharing. Never again. drfabulous (7813) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - DEC 31, 2016

beige head. brown colour. aroma is nutty, sweet, caramel. taste like aroma, hazlenuts, oxidation and long very sweet sugary aftertaste, dense body, medium carbonation. bottle 33cl 90 (419) - BELGIUM - NOV 30, 2016
Appelcider in de neus. De smaak doet denken aan pinot de charmantes. Een aperitiefbier.
