Bastante buena. Para repetir. (Schloss Eggenberg Samichlaus Helles) Bottle 330 ml from Sebilinz, thanks Erich! Vintage 2015, served into a snifter, ABV 14%
Deep copper orange colour on the body, crystal clear, with a small and thin, off-white head on top, low retention.
Aroma of malts, sugars, light fruity notes, alcohol, apricits.
Very sweet taste with syrup, sugars, dried apricot, peach, malts, dates, prunes. alcohol, sherry wine.
Medium body, soft carbonation.
Rather enjoyable, good sipper, I’d like to try an older vintage some time. BillWyce (1116) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 21, 2016
2007 bottling poured into a snifter. Lightly hazy amber color, reminiscent of ginger ale. Small, thin bone-colored head that disappeared quickly. Aromas of candied fruit and caramel. Full body, syrupy. Long finish with a mild astringency. The aging allowed the alcohol bite mellow considerably. Flavor of candied fruit mixed with caramel or toffee. Light boozy note as well.

Bottle, 2007 bottling. It’s a rather flat one, just a few beige bubbles gather around the glass. It’s clear and mahogany colored, except if the dredges were poured. The aroma is rather intense and complex. Not as alcoholic as you might think considering the ABV though. Dried fruits, prunes and apricots, port wine, brown sugar, some grass, a touch of caramel and also a faint hint of something soy-like and oxidized. The soy thing was just a faint whiff. It’s very sweet on the palate, rather warming, with very little carbonation. Dried fruits, port wine, caramel and grass and some brown sugar in the flavor. It sort of falls through in the finish though, as it then feels almost cloyingly sweet and warming only, but all the other flavors are there as well, just not as pronounced as in the initial flavor. I must admit I have been storing this one for years just because I didn’t feel like drinking a 14% ABV sweet lager, but I’m glad I did save it for eight years as now it’s quite wonderful. Pity I don’t have more bottles, I’d love to try it with some cheese as well, not only with dried fruits. 151229 JSigsbach (11) - Chicago, USA - DEC 27, 2015
Bottled 2014. Experienced Dec 2015. Direct pour into Belgian chalice. Really nice holiday offering.Highly drinkable but as a slow savor, not sipping, but definitely not "guzzling."
Appearance: Light caramel, rosy notes
Aroma: Boozy sweetishness, pleasant, inviting
Mouthfeel: Light but sturdy with body, hot, fizzy
Aftertaste: cherry, brandy, peppery on retro olfaction
Overall: Superb strong Helles (co labeled "Malt Liquor"); Brandy-like in overall experience; to me, best enjoyed by itself by the fire, but savored, and not too cold

33cl bottle shared at home. Dark orange with almost no head. Full body with low carbonation. Very sweet (and syruppy) with some smooth. Caramel, sugar, peach, ripe fruits, honey and some spices. Strong but tasty. rusos (801) - Stupava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - DEC 12, 2015
Bottle. Clear golden colour, very small white head. Aroma is malty, fruity, some plums, dried fruits, nuts, sweet, alcohol, honey. Wood. Taste is very intense sweet, malty, fruity, raisins, dried fruits, warming alcohol. Sweet aftertaste. Hard drinkability due to sweetness and alcohol, but good. Samichlaus Helles 14%
A very pretty looking orange amber. The nose is quite a fragrant fruity plum/prunes, malty caramel with some heat.
Very rich malt, syrupy brown sugar, some sharp heat, dried prunes in the aftertaste. Super sugary and rich. Some heat burning down your throat. The aftertaste is burnt brown sugar.
Very interest wrong but somewhat over the top.
