COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Steiner Export is probably the most famous beer from the Schlossbrauerei Stein. It has been awarded the gold medal of the DLG for years. Other awards include European Beer Star 2010 and 2011. Steiner Export is our No. 1 beer made for those who prefer a full-bodied beer flavor. It is particularly tasty, with a golden yellow color and a finely harmonic malty aroma.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2016 Bottle. Clear very pale golden colour with a medium white head, nose is grassy, quite malty and sweet with some strange notes that remind of paint-thinner, taste is very aromatic and malty with an almost floral sweetness and a not overly dry and a bit cardboardish finish. Solid export

Bottle 50cl. as Steiner Export. Clear pale golden, small frothy white head, mostly diminishing, good lacing; sweet malty nose, grain, grass, bread; crisp taste, medium sweet, light to medium bitter, malty, grassy; medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, mild sweetbitter aftertaste, spicy notes; really nice Helles, good example of the style.

Bottled, from Biershop Bayern. Clear pale golden, small head. Grassy, spicy nose. Dry with light-medium body and firm, yet crisp rounded mouthfeel. Distinct grassy, spicy hops. Long bitter finish. Hugely drinkable. Really nice helles/export.

Very unspectacular beer that does the trick but very little more. It has a bit of everything, a bit of bitterness, a bit of drinkability, a bit of aftertaste. A bit of everything beer.

GoufCustom (2003) - HONG KONG - FEB 14, 2015

500ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.

Light golden honey colour; One finger head and soapy white foam which lasts for 1 minute; Very good sticky lacing with slow-moving small carbonation; Aroma of lager malt, with strong sweet floral, honey, light cookies bread, yeast, lemon and light grass; Close to medium sweet taste of malt, with floral, cookies, molasses, bread, lemon and light bitter grassy hops; Light body. Thin palate; Mouth feel is light but very testable maltyness. Strong floral and cookies to the tongue. Moderate sweetness, just right bread, moderate hops to compliment. Pretty good!... Hoppiness is light lemon, strong floral and light grass in nose and taste. Close to light bitterness for a very abrupt, low-astringent sweet finish; Quite dry after taste. Easy and light bitter to mouth.

Comments: I like this one more than the Chiemgau Hell for its expressive floral and cookies aroma and taste. Also it’s less sweeter and with decent breadyness to give an overall well made impression. Not a world beater but a highly enjoyable working class Helles. Yea!
