   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 12/20
Jonb5 (550) - Greater London, - FEB 11, 2013
330ml bottle, poured into Leffe chalice. Dark bronze colour, one finger head which didn’t hang around very long, kept some lacing. Quite thick looking but not hazy. Initially there was no detectable aroma, some malt and vanilla came through towards the end. Tasted charcol and malt, was overly bitter in an unbalanced way that also killed all other flavours. Finish was bitter and slightly bready. Had a coarse edge, was well carbonated and the body was quite thick for the fairly low strength. Overall not one of the better beers out there, was just a bit unbalanced even though it mellowed slightly.

einherjar (351) - Rijeka, CROATIA - JUL 18, 2017
Clear copper color, medium head. Very strong aroma of licorice, malt, caramel. Taste sweet, caramel, dark fruit, light bitterness. My first altbier and I’m not impressed.

Cristobal37 (1143) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 15, 2017
Vom Flasch from Koln. Coca cola brown. Sort of vacant aroma. A little caramel, malty (rye), dry bitterness. A nice albeit watery alt bier. Drinkable for sure.

RW80 (2574) - Hoogeveen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 10, 2017
33cl bottle. Apperance: A Clear dark brownish amber with a medium sized dense stable, off-white head. Aroma: A bit faint, sweetish malts, nuts and a hint of fruit and raisins. Taste: Sweetish, malts, caramel a hint of dark fruit and honey finishing with a short, earthy bitterness. Finish is dry. Thin - Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not the best alt,but ok.

thellgren (1062) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 7, 2017
several 0.2 l draught somewhere in Düsseldorf (April 21, 2017). Appearance is dark amber and clear. This has more dark malts than some of the other Altbiers, but taste is still quite smooth and easy. There is no roasted bitterness or dry dark chocolate. Quite decent one, but there are better ones.

Part of my mission on my last trip to Dusseldorf, Everything an alt should be.

jpkeskinen (515) - FINLAND - MAR 25, 2017
Bottle. Lightly sweet taste. Better than Uerige but would be better off there would be more flavours in there.

simontomlinson (374) - Blackburn, Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2017
Frothy beige head left a cover on a dark amber still body. Fruity, malt aroma with berries. Medium bodied. Smooth on the palate with minimal carbonation. Malts, caramel, bitter tastes - a very simple beer. Probably great on hot summer afternoon.

Piw (1127) - Rüsselsheim, GERMANY - MAR 7, 2017
