330ml bottle, poured into Leffe chalice. Dark bronze colour, one finger head which didn’t hang around very long, kept some lacing. Quite thick looking but not hazy. Initially there was no detectable aroma, some malt and vanilla came through towards the end. Tasted charcol and malt, was overly bitter in an unbalanced way that also killed all other flavours. Finish was bitter and slightly bready. Had a coarse edge, was well carbonated and the body was quite thick for the fairly low strength. Overall not one of the better beers out there, was just a bit unbalanced even though it mellowed slightly.

Bottle (random place at Trier, Germany). Pours dark amber-brown with beige head. Aroma is fruity, sweet, malty. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, caramel. Finish has some dry bitterness. Carbonation is on the high side. Overall: bit dead and over carbonated, as typical for a macro, but otherwise this is really good.

Tap @Barley Mow, Bristol. Medium head, red/copper colour, clear, nice lacing. Aroma: rotten leaves, malts, grain. Bitter taste with dry aftertaste. Medium body, average carbonation. Not bad, the aroma strongly reminds of autumn ;)

Pours a clear dark brown with a persistent frothy white head. Nose is sweet caramel malt plus a perfumed floral note (hops I guess). Taste is dry, light some tasty malt, a kind of savoury salty note, and more of the floral. Palate is light, fizzy, and somewhat savoury. I bought this as part of my ongoing effort to educate myself as regarding beers I don’t like and would generally avoid. This beer is too light for my taste, and has that somewhat fusty note I just don’t like. So tell me Ratebeer, what should I be appreciating in this brew?

0,5 l Flasche. Aroma: malzig, getreidig, leicht säuerlich. Erscheinung: Braunes Bier, cremefarbener Schaum, sehr schöne Gardine. Geschmack: malzig, getreidig, leicht bitter, minimal rauchig. Nachgeschmack: Bitterkeit kommt spät. Gesamt: Gut trinkbar, nichts weltbewegendes.

Bamsen78 (5105) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2016
Draught in a restaurant in Düsseldorf. Pours clear copper brown with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of yeast and caramel and hints of dust. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with notes of hops and yeast and hints of dust. Mild, bitterish, estery aftertaste. Rather watery and ein bisschen zu sweetish to be really good, but definitely drinkable.
