Tap. Clear burnt copper body with a large/huge persistent white head. Aroma/taste: leather/wood, herbal/vegetative hops, bread crust and a touch of biscuit. Moderately bitter finish. Light bodied and light carbonation.

500ml flip-top bottle (thanks Karmo). Clear dark chestnut color. Huge size, thick tan head, stays. Sweet, malty, caramel, creamy in taste. Husky, chestnut, buttery, sweet, malty in taste. Herbal hops and slightly buttery in aftertaste. Dusty and dry mouthfeel. Soft bitterness. Shy and pleasant. Very solid brew.

0.5 lt bottle in Düsseldorf. Clear copper beer, creamy white head with nice retention and lacing. Malts, toffee, caramel, warm dough aroma. In taste hints of roasted malts and caramel, perfect balance between sweet and bitter. Correct carbonation, soft. Ending barely tends towards bitter, very drinkable, one of the best alts in town. Undoubtedly at its best from tap at Zum Schlüssel Brewery.

Keg in Holy Craft, Dusseldorf. Brown with a frothy cream head. Toffee and malt aroma. The taste is malty with lots of toast and some metallic notes. Decent.

several 0.2 l draught @ Zum Schlüssel, Düsseldorf (April 21, 2017). Appearance is brown, clear and with a nice head. Taste is very malty - there is even dark chocolate. There must be some very dark malts, but not so much as to affect to the colour. Ending is dry, but I’d like more hops. Guess, I like my alt less malty and hoppier than this. Still, a great beer.

Draught. The taste is slightly sweet and malty. Looks nice and brown. A decent alt.

MrHangover (4563) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAR 16, 2017
Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany brownish red beer with a medium sized, off white head on top. Aroma is very malty, lots of caramel, hint of wood and dirt notes. Flavor is mildly sweet, cookies, red fruits and has this real subtle, soft mouthfeel which I like so much in most Altbiers. Aftertaste is short, inviting you to take another sip. Very decent.
