This gets some points because it makes good ribs. Put ribs in saucepan and add Schmidt's to cover (approx. 2 cans). Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 45 min. Remove ribs from beer and put on the barbecue. Coat ribs with your favorite BBQ sauce, turning ocasionally. Eat ribs whilst having a good beer. No Schmidt.

Oh man, this was bad. I proudly bought a half-rack of this swill for National Corndog Day (www.corndogday.com), the bylaws of which forbid bottled beer. I chose in the cooler from between regular Schmidt and PBR, thinking the proximity to PBR might help. I crack the can of Schmidt Ice with the first ’dog of NCD... The corndog was delicious, the beer was atrocious. I mean real bad. Taste was overcooked rice & corn. Mouth-feel was liked thinned vegetable oil. Schmidty Ice made the Miller High Life which followed it actually taste like the champagene of beers. I had a headache from just one.

Medium gold body. The head is thick and white. The aroma has honey and oats. There is also some light corn flakes. The taste is metal and plastic. There is also a int of rancid honey along with some grainy corn goodness. This is a little offensive, but I guess you get what you pay fo rin the alcohol department. Damn, I get the can with a mountain goat vs. the whitetail. Will start with the downgrade of appearance from the start. Light straw color with a taller bubbly of white head. White grape, mild grain and a hint of floral hops. Smells like a mild malt liquor. Light sweet malt flavors that compared to the aromas are quite a surprise. Actually dreaded trying the brew while checking the aromas, but the flavors don’t follow that closely. Sweet malt and mildly floral in flavor. Just holding a can of this stuff is a sharp reminder of my Northwestern Pennsylvania roots. A place where "Buck Fever" can be caught every year come late November. 1st day of the deer hunt is basically a state holiday.
Though I live in a place and associate with people with far more culture and class these days, all I have to do is crack open one of these and all the hillbilly in me comes out.
Reminds me of drinking in bars at sportsman’s clubs, legions, V.F.W.’s, or any other cheap-ass bar open at 7 a.m and full of old men, floors covered with peanut shells,and walls covered with dead animals.
