Bügelverschlußflasche (von Stefan!): Golden with a greenish sheen, small loose head; sweetish pale-malty nose with a shy herbal-hoppy background; mild to moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light bodied; slightly lingering herbal and malty finish. Drinkable…

Bottle from bartlebier - thank you, Frank! The beer has got a clear golden colour with an steady low head and medium body. Aroma of hops and straw, followed by a taste of mild hops, straw, dust, mild fruits and hay. Dusty and grainy finish. Not a good one.

Vielen Dank an kevnic2008! Das Bier hat eine goldgelbe Farbe und sehr wenig weißen Schaum. Geruch getreidig, malzig, leicht süß. Geschmack metallisch bitter, grasig, getreidig, süß malzig im Abgang.

Many thanks to kevnic2008. Malty-sweetish beginning. Fresh and easy to drink without too much deepness. The aftertaste has bitter hints, fresh and grainy. Slightly sweetish.

Couleur dorée, mousse qui disparait. Nez malté et legumes cuits. Gout léger malt doux et legumes, notes papiers. Pas si mauvaise en soi mais pas ce qu’on attend d’une helles.

(swing top bottle) Clear, greenish golden colour with a diminishing and loose frothy white head. Slightly juicy malty aroma with a tinge of woody hops. Slightly sweet and delicately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Pale malt character with subtle grainy and fruity notes, accompanied by slightly herbal and woody hops; moderately dry sweet-bitter finish with a mildly hoppy touch. Decent Lager. 30.VII.14

bottle from Edeka Offenburg. Clear straw golden yellow, creamy, tall white head. Malty base, shy hops that add a slightly grassy-dusty touch.

Thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, fine malty, not too dry. Wheaty-spicy notes, light sweetish. Finish with a light fruity touch of peach. Not bad!

bartlebier (3929) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - MAR 20, 2014
UPDATED: APR 1, 2014 50cl fliptop, new local Edeka addition, bb08/2014. Pours a solid deep gold with greenish hue. Strong, sweetish aromatic malt nose with a whiff of banana and butter. Palate is very buttery for a lager, taste dominated by quality caramelish malts and a fruitiness bordering on Hefeweizen...probably not intended? Hop presence is a faint citric grass note in the back end. Full of partly inappropriate tastes for a lager - stylewise maybe not the best, but charmingly regional, an underdog on the shelves... / Note: probably identical to "Schmieheim Lager", but with 16IBU as per Brewery’s website www.hieronymus-bier.info/lager and this time entered correctly as Hieronymus Lager.
