MBG 06. Aroma not great - very grainy. Orange, with very creamy orange/white head. Better taste - all malt and then the hops. Very balanced. Nice beer, but more of an APA with restrained hops - too bad about that aroma though. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 25, 2006
Draught sample at MBG 2006 Summer Festival. Golden-amber. Big herbal aroma with a bit of sweetness in the background. Soft body. Tart, citrus hops in the flavour. A simple IPA - tasty enough, but not overly memorable. jercraigs (10651) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 23, 2006
Michigan Brewers Festival. Orange amber body with a small creamy beige head. (3+) Mild sweet orange and muted resin in the aroma. Flavour have muted not quite dilute resin and hops. Average palate. Pleasant but unexceptional. IAMCNDN (2) - USA - JUL 19, 2006 does not count
Again, not a beer perfectionist like others in here, but I really like what this IPA offers. Not too hoppy but has enough kick to let you know its an IPA. Great colour, who cares how much head it has. And you gotta love the logo. AlabastorJones (814) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 29, 2005
clear gold body with no head and no aroma, just empty space, serious lack of hop bite and any sort of bitters, or flavor for that matter, watery palate and mouthfeel, really not much goin on here, especially considering this seems to be the esteemed beer here, i still do have mad respect for this place though, as schmohz truly is a working man’s micro brew pub, not a beer geek’s brew pub

Grapefruit, herbal hops over strong fruit (apricot/orange) in the nose. Hazy yellow-tan with low white head. Very sweet and fruity flavour with mild finishing bitterness that only just reminds you this is beer. Medium-light body is fairly dry with moderate carbonation. Sampled at the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival 2005.

Belle couleur orangée, apparence opaque, mousse beige pale. Arômes synthétiques rappelant un jus de houblon à faible budget. Une part d’amertume non balancée vit dans un liquide unidirectionnel et peu intéressant. Mince en bouche, faible carbonatation. Michigan brewer’s fest, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Juillet 2005. muzzlehatch (4969) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 30, 2005
Sampled draught at the Michigan Brewers Fest. Love the brewery name, and the label shown here, but alas I didn’t love the beer. Apricot-peach-juice color with little head...peachy, fruit-juicy nose, hints of grassy hops and grapefruit...very sweet body, juicy-fruity, I’ve never experienced a fruitier, sweet IPA I think...bit of hops come in along with some thyme at the end, and a touch of sourness, but they fail to save this over-the-top candy IPA. Peachy coloured, off-white head. Mostly fruity notes present nice array of pears, apricots, oranges, but not much else. Feels a bit smoky in mouth where the fruitiness keeps on stronger than ever with plenty of citrus and a very dry character. Meidum bodied, light-average carbonation. Simple. On tap @ MBGF: Moderate citrus hops in the aroma with some floweriness. Transparent amber with a small off-white head. Sweet citrus up front with a citrus and pine hop finish. Decent IPA.
