Not very hoppy for an imperial. Has a strong finish but the taste is odd, strong but not like a good Imperial.

Bottle at home. Cute label on the beer, some girl in a bikini top. But that is about it. Pour is brown with light amber hints. Little to no head. Aroma is malty and toffee. Slightly coffee and burnt malt. Some dark fruits also. Aroma would have fit a barley wine. Flavor follows the nose, with a harsh bitter finish - lost the barley wine possibility. Some cardboard on the finish. Not really a pleasant beer to drink. Regrettably, I had one with my lunch and now need to manage to get some work done. Oh well.

This beer is an almost comical miss in terms of style. I mean, this crap is practically brown. (Note: The P in IPA stands for pale.) In any case, aside from being brown and headless, this smells mostly of... malt, actually--kinda toffee-like and sweet. Flavor too is heavy and sweet but there is finally a bit of hops. They are earthy, a bit resinous and sticky in the finish. This is maybe like a hoppy Scotch ale or something if something like that could be said to exist. It is not terrible and it is strong so it has that going for it but, seriously, this is going to disappoint pretty much anyone who is in the mood for a hop bomb IIPA.

bottle. Deep amber with small head. I don’t even know what to say. This is one of the worst Imperial IPAs I’ve ever had. Do they brew on dirty equipment, or are the recipes just terrible?

Fine fruity aroma, just don’t really enjoy the taste.. very sweet.. thin. . Not goo!!

WTF again schmohz. Same dirty amber pour with no head. Fruity aroma. Taste is a muddled mess off dark fruit and pure malt extract. Ends a little bitter. Medium body light carbonation. Stopppppp

Deep dark brown and amber coloured body with no head at all to speak of and a thick layer of yeast at the top of the bottle and on the cap - very interesting and not like an Imperial IPA i’ve ever seen before. Aroma of alcohol, pit fruits, caramel, yeast and bread - no hops at all to smell and more of a traditional ale than anything else. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong alcohol and pit fruit flavours with a lot of cardboardie malt at the back end with some raisins and caramel, along with a touch of toffee, but no hops at all, and no complexity at all. Aftertaste shows the slightest hint of bitterness, but it dies away quickly and the alcohol and light breadiness comes through. Overall, this one is just bad - no flavours, no complexity, no hops and definitely not worth buying nor bringing back home. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$2.49 sampled at home in Washington on 12-October-2013 to celebrate Detroit’s game 1 victory over the Red Sox in the 2013 ALCS.

12 oz bottle. The pour is a dark dark amber, pretty much brown. About as anti-IPA as I can think of. There is a thin white head, no real lacing to be found. The aroma is strange. It's almost a cross between a brown and stout, somewhat like a Strong Ale. It's very sweet, with none of the fruitiness or pineyness that you'd expect. The taste is just as strange. There are a lot of conflicting notes that ate drowned out by the sweetness of this. No real hoppiness to be detected. There are many better Imperial IPAs out there than trying to struggle through this ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Poured a deep amber, almost brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, grains and toasty. Follow with some citrus. Sweeter.

Strange IPA. Drank after a Stone’s Ruination, so it feels incredibly mild. I wish I had this one first for a better impression. I am getting a sweet ending...caramel? Drinkable out of a bottle. Might rerank again if I ever find this and try it first. I am really liking it now though. Good beer, but doesn’t feel like an IPA. If you go in knowing that, it is very enjoyable.

Muted hop aroma, basic appearance with a smooth and subtle taste and warming aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
