Numerous bottles in Blackfriars. Aroma is sazz piney, grassy and lightly lemon, estery note off the yeast, pale and biscuity malts. Taste has alot going on, biscuity, peppery, the yeasty is giving all sorts of things, but quite a dry finish. Very interesting unfiltered pils, not very often i get the chance to have an unfiltered an top quility pils in Glasgow. ekstedt (6993) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUL 6, 2008
Sampled at the RSBEG08 grand tasting. Hazy golden with medium white head. Fresh hayish straw malt aroma with herbal hops. Light in body, soft carbonation. Well balanced with moderate bitterness. ALLOVATE (3078) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 12, 2011
Tried this one back in Sep’ 2009 – Appears a cloudy, light sandy yellow. Head rises up all froth then dwindles back to a messy, sudsy pad that manages good legs. Fresh zesty and ripe summer fruits emerge at first whiff, never to air again? Barnyard grains and hay after that, cereal-like with just a little pine resin. Wonderfully gritty and spicy on the palate. Grainy and herbally peppery, all pale malts and noble hops in the mouth. Sprightly in carbonation giving it good bounce, with a clean, moderately bitter and crisp all hop finish. Quite dry, subtle grassy and chaff notes, good cereal base, slightly earthy linger develops. Went down with need of another to follow. Extremely well balanced, good assertive flavours and very light on the palate so you could slam them back all night! (BB 13/10/09, 33cL, Int’l Beer Store W. 33cl bottle at home. Very pale golden and slightly hazy beer. The head is white, thin and quite lacy. The aroma has grainy malts, some grassy hops and a hint of sweetish fruitness. The flavor has fresh and quite lemony bitterness. Malts are slightly bready and grainy. The finish is bitterish and grassy. The palate is medium bodied, quite smooth and refreshing. Pale yellow and very hazy with a decent and lasting white head. Lovely milky hop aroma and some slight yeast and sugar. Similar flavour with a creamy and bitter finish. Balanced and not at all metaillic or cardboardy. Ok, a tiny bit of card but it’s really not a spoiler. Not really 100% to style but vey enjoyable.
0.33 l from Alko. Pale golden color with small head. The aroma is even with malt and herbal-peppery hops. There is also hint of sulphur, graininess and lemon in the nose. Dryish malty and hoppy flavor. Dry minerals, peppery hops, restrained bitterness and hint of tartness in the finish. Good somewhat different pilsner. BeerBaboon (2139) - FINLAND - DEC 21, 2010
Jälkimaku on katkera hunajaisella vivahteella. Hiilihappoa on suhteellisen vähän. Olisiko hieman aliarvostettu olut, ainakin täällä?
