COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore...
Up until the 1940s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created.
Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

Appearance: Utter, complete, total perfection. Caramel syrup with cotton foam. Extremely thick. There is complete darkness; no light gets through when held up to light. Smell: Bananas. Cloves. Chocolate. Bubblegum. Smells like a hef on steroids. Sweet maple syrup with a hint of pine. Smells like whiskey when it warms. Taste/Mouthfeel: This stuff is strong. Extremely full-bodied. Pine, caramel, cloves, and a hint of maple hit you first. Then the bourbon, vanilla, and oak, followed by plum and banana. Some coffee in the finish. Tastes like an IPA, hef, and stout all in one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Donker amberkleurig bier met rode gloed en beige schuimkraag die vlug weg is. Geur: gebrande mout, zoet, alcoholisch, fruitlikeur. Smaak: zoet, redelijk droog, alcoholisch, mueslireep, gestoofde peren en donker en gedroogd fruit. Volmondig. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: alcoholisch, droog. Mijn eerste eisbock denk ik. Verrassend!

No head, dark brown color. In aroma, plum liqour is easly recognized, i noticed also some soureness. Taste is strong but not overwhelming, and its a kind of suprise. Again plums and dark fruits are in front, alcohol is well hidden but warming. I wouldnt say its thin as syrup it is rather sticky and maybe carbonated to high. All in all, I dont like bocks at all, but this one is supereb beer to me.

Robe brune, mousse crmeuse, peu persistante.

Clear, dark amber colour with no head. Medium intensive aroma of dark dried fruits, toasted bread crust and hint of banana. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with medium long duration sweet (fruity) finish. Warming aftertaste. Solid stuff.
