COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore...
Up until the 1940s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created.
Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

12 oz from the Coop for about $5... enjoyed from my HotD goblet. Not much head at all ... deep amber brew. All sweet bananas and raisins ...a touch of pink bubblegum and cloves. Deceptively smooth for a brew with this much alcohol ... medium body and pretty explosive carbonation on the palate. Flavor is bananas and the expected bubblegum.. thick "raisin box essence" on the finish. Some caramel mid palate. Lingering spicy clove esters. Very good, but so rich it is only a 1-2/year indulgence.

Bottle with expiry date 2021.01.29. Black colour with brown reflexes, head disappears quickly without a trace. Intensive aroma of date, fig, raisin, also some bread, dough and honey. Alcohol is present but does not disturb. Medium sweet, light bitterness, mostly from alcohol. Not too heavy, lively carbonation.

Aromat - czekolada, pumpernikiel, śliwka, pomarańcza, Piana - uboga, średnia i drobna; szybko opada, W smaku wyczuwalny alkohol "płszlachetny", do tego rozgrzewanie w przełyk.

Big head, lasts long, dark, red color, looks a bit grey. Aroma: dry fruits, grapes, alcohol. Tastes fruity, full body, sweet, soft carbonation, prickling alcohol sensation

Hazy dark ruby body, with a small off-white head. Indistinct aroma of red fruit, burnt sugar, raisins, a hint of alcohol. Taste is rich sweet malt balanced by a significant alcohol presence, though not hot or harsh. Also, theres plenty of dark fruit esters. Very full-bodied, very thick texture, low carbonation.

Very intense aroma of dried fruit in the kind of plum and grape. Notes of burned sugar and a bit of booze in the background. Dark ruby in the glass with thick tan head. Taste is very complex with notes of dark fruit, some raisin and notes of burned sugar with hints of coffee cherries. Oily texture. Very good winter warmer.

From bottle in Germany. Poured with a large, medium bubbled head with great retention and lacing. Appears near black and opaque with a hint of deep copper in the light. Aroma is reminiscent of a Belgian dubbel lots of sweetness and a little booze. Taste is a masterful balance of dark malt with a little wheat that isn?t too sweet; but the beer itself is malty sweet. Palate is smooth if a little oily and a little gas which isn?t tasted but felt.

Aroma: very malty and a little dry; Appearance: very dark amber with thin white head that lingers; Taste: follows nose; some smokiness at the end; Palate: heavy body with long, malty finish; Overall: not my favorite style; would not get again.
