COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore...
Up until the 1940s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created.
Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, - MAY 4, 2009
Bottle (330ml) Cellared for 3 years. Poured intense dark ruby with a small, frothy, lightly tanned head which was mostly diminishing. A rich, sticky, complex aroma with burnt sugar, toffee, toasted malts, dark chocolate, muscatels, prunes, caramelized dates and allspice. Flavor was of rich sticky toffee with caramelized dates, rum & raisin chocolate, fruit cake, figs, sultanas, brown sugar, light woody notes, a touch of port and a warming finish. Well hidden alcohol, very smooth with virtually no bitterness. Full bodied with very soft carbonation, a syrupy texture and a long lasting finish.

Aroma of ripe banana, dried fruits, some toasty and caramel notes. Tastes like dried fruits, banana and some notes of plum in chocolate. Almost oily mouthfeel, very sweet, carbonation is very low. Very tasty.

Maffigt!

Dark head disappears quickly, but its normal for high alcohol volume beer. Tawny colour, hazy. Aroma of evident banana, liquorice, caramel in the background and a hint of chocolate. In taste banana, sweetness, alcohol is noticeable but very well balanced. Fantastic beer.

0,33l Bottle. Pours with a hazy brown color and large ivory head, which disappearces quickly. Only at the first moments, there are some smoked-bacons notes - just sloghtly. The nose is very nice: Raisins, banana, yeast. Taste of bananas, Belgian yeast, malty and sweet (caramel). Full-bodied and good carbonation.

jandorris (570) - Warsaw, POLAND - MAR 16, 2017

W smaku gęste, słodkawe i likierowe, zdecydowanie owocowe - dominuje śliwka, banan i wiśnia, ktra przełamuje słodycz kwaskowym posmakiem, finisz natomiast z nutami goździkowymi i mocno rozgrzewający gardło.
