Poirs dark brown with a lpt of head. Loads of carbonation, smell is soury, almost early wine fermentation like. Taste is very mild and surprisingly not sour. A very nice aftertaste aftertaste follows.

delightful dark beer! fruitiness abounds in this mysterious yet welcoming beer. reminiscent of home-dried apricots, prune-plums, cherries... all of this is within reason as the beer has a balanced palette - not too boozy, sweet or dry... just right, like a german loaf of delicately studied dark rye bread. it's ABV is surprising at 8.2%, as it has hardly any strong-beer taste to it at all. this beer is a unique delight.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2017 Bottle. Pours caramel dark brown with nice beige head. Aromas of yeast, crystal malt, wheat malt, caramel, sour cherry. Full body with medium carbonation. Taste of wheat malt, toffee and very subtle cognac. Sweet toffee aftertaste.

From Nov 2005 Poured from the bottle with a huge head that settled down after a few minutes...gorgeous deep brown colour. For me, the smell was fruit and cloves...nice. The taste is very complex. Chocolate, fruit and a strong clove flavour all operating in wonderful harmony...I don't even notice that it's sitting at 8%abv and that's a testament to how well made this is. I highly recommend this delicious wheat dobblebock!

Couleur brune relativement opaque.

Bottle (500ml). Dark Reddish brown with big tan head. Roasted malts have a little chocolate flavor. Medium plus carbonation. A little sweetness. Very refreshing

500mL bottle. Pours mahogany brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma is wheat, banana, spice, light roast, toffee, caramel, slight clove, and some subtle fruit. Taste is spice, chocolate, banana, wheat, some plum, licorice, some toffee, and some roast. Full body. Moderate carbonation. Creamy, wheat-y mouthfeel.

Aroma is banana, with overtones of raisin and roasted nuts with a very slight chocolatey note. Pours a dark brown colour with an absolutely huge creamy head and these aromas come pouring out. Flavour is really good, all of the above with an underlying banana and clove, although the overall palate is slightly light on aftertaste which is a shame as the flavours are really nice. Another winner from Schneider Weisse although I had to get this one from Germany as it's not easily obtainable from the UK.

Great wheat beer. Love it when I find this on tap. Wish it was more widely distributed.
