Held onto a bottle of this for quite some time (for reasons unknown) and decided it might be time to taste it. I became a little hesitant when I cracked it as it failed to pssshhhrt! Poured it into an Aventinus glass, it was relatively lifeless, raising only a thin white pad of foam, that managed to last the length. The body of beer a clean hazy gold with only the lightest amount of fine carbonation popping to the surface. Subtle spicy and grainy nose, sweet bubblegum and overly ripe bananas with a little note of tangy fruit. The aroma was quite pleasant but lacked the oomph of a good hefe, as did the flavour. Thin, watery body, light and spritzy in carbonation, it had an odd plastic feel mid-palate and a light lactic and gluggy feel in the back of the mouth, before finishing off with a short herbal and sweet swallow. Flavours were subtle with only a little of the normal bubblegum and clove-like phenols and fruity esters associated with a good example of the style. A little disappointed as I thought this may top the Weihenstephan and Spaten offerings, but it just lacked in all aspects. May be the higher alcohol content to blame for its lack of body and flavour. Still, a balanced and clean hefe-weizen that was easily quaffable.

Flaska systembolaget. Grumlig orange kulör. Doft av citrus, örter och jäst. I smak känns örter, äpplemos, aprikos, jäst och vete. Len och uppfriskande

From 50cl bottle. Pours fully hazy dark intense gold with abundant white foam, irregular. Aroma is fruity but also herbaceous, the latter moderating the typical weizen aroma of banana, which here is not straightforward. Body is average. Taste is not as sweet as typical weizen, but displays a pleasant bitterness as well. Finish is short.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy yellow/amber colour, white foam. Sweet nose of banana, wheat, citrus. Bitter, sweet and light wheat tart. Balanced. Nice and refreshing hefeweizen.

Yet another superb offering from Schneider-Weisse, who has quickly become our favorite German brewery. It pours a lovely golden cloudy orange with medium head and a rich lemony, wheaty, bubblegum smell. The taste is rich, refreshing, zesty, and surprisingly hoppy. It manages to dance across several flavor profiles like a beer equivalent of Mariah Carey’s vocal range. Good for washing down some Burger King after a long days journey into the heart(ford) of death metal with your sleepy wonderful boo boo.

0.5 l, flaske, 6.2 % ABV, BB: 16/01/18, købt i Systembolaget i Malmö, Sverige. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Pours deep golden with white head. Apart from the usual banana and yeast there are some honey, hops and spicy notes in aroma. In taste it’s banana-honey sweet with underlying bitterness to it. Complex, delicious beer.

500 ml bottle served in Weizenbier glass. Pale dark orange colour, medium white head. Coriander, hops, lemon, yeast, grapefruit, a bit passion fruit. Hoppy bitterness, light sour. Medium body. oily texture. Lively carbonated. Could be the little brother of "Meine Hopfenweiße".
