4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2010 nose of weizen yeast esthers, but more subdued or subtle then even some regular-grade weizens. the flavor reveals why some of those aromas are stifled: nearly opaque ruby appearance leads to flavors of pit fruits and dark herbal qualities. mouthfeel remains just as smooth and feathery as a regular weizen, but with amped up flavors that go beyond the somewhat sweet and airy notes typically found. the dark apperance defies the easily likable interior of esters and love laced fruits. i had the eisbock before this (which i enjoyed immensely) but i feel like i just took a weight off my shoulders, for this is so drinkable i am staggered as a result. overall maybe a fresher specimen would have provided greater fruits as i have experienced in other weizen bocks but this still sits in a very comfortable position amongst the greatest beers i know of, and one i will be returning to soon and often.
Tap 6. Brown hazy with medium beige head. Nice sweet-sour fruity aroma. Fruity sweet-sourness mixed with medium bitterness, remarkable roasted malt notes, also some dried fruits and spicy notes. bpreo (3043) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - FEB 13, 2018
That's a German beer alright. Wheaty, a little fruity, and overall a little too much for me to handle. ciupakabra (304) - - FEB 12, 2018
Kolor: Miedziany, mętny. Piana: Beżowa, obfita, głównie drobnopęcherzykowa, dość szybko redukuje się do półcentymetrowego kożuszka. Zapach: Banany, karmel, śliwki, rodzynki, dojrzałe truskawki, ciemne pieczywo. Smak: Suszone, ciemne owoce, nieco alkoholu, goryczka minimalna. Wysycenie średnie, przeciętna treściwość, trochę zbyt duża słodycz i lekko wyłażący alkohol przeszkadzają. vlada94 (266) - Nis, SERBIA - FEB 6, 2018
Really hazy brown colour with thick tanned head , aroma is so so strong , banana, raisins, yeast , plum, taste is banana , yeast, cloves , raisins and plum , mouthfeel is smooth, aftertaste is really fruity and slightly soury , great beet. ciocanelu (3190) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - FEB 5, 2018
Murky dark amber color with beige head. Aroma has toasted malt, overripe mushy banana, sweet wheat, soft candy and fruity yeast esters. Taste follows with the toasted malt and banana, bittersweet with a light astringency, slightly boozy. Medium plus body, medium carbonation, quite smooth feel. Overall it's a nice beer with a lot of flavor but the alcohol warmth takes a bit away from the drinkability.

Una de las birras de mi juventud. Cervezón doble de trigo ideal para el invierno. Gusto a regaliz, pasas, ciruelas, caramelo, nuez moscada y clavo. Muy buen cuerpo y un color rojo rubí que impone respeto. Alcohol totalmente integrado. Un receta centenaria que merece respeto. Saljivdzija123 (3) - SERBIA - FEB 3, 2018 does not count
Brown color, nice warming sweet taste with full body and strong sense of alcohol, softly carbonated. Truly deserves it's high overall score as one of the best beers today. gtastephan (4) - Bavaria, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2018 does not count
A perfect wheat Doppelbock. Taste like dry fruits, banana and has about 100 years of history surething_ii (1105) - Šenkvice, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JAN 29, 2018
Bottle from Pivotéka Nitra.
This was a great choice for last beer of this evening. Now I'm truly sad I don't have it my beer cellar anymore. It reminds me eisbock of the same with all the complex tastes of plums, raisins, banana, yeast and more while you can still survive more of these in one ride. Excellent.
