espenra (1015) - Kurland, NORWAY - MAR 17, 2012
75cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene. Best before 2014-08-02. Very pale golden colour with a minimal head. Aroma is earthy notes, grains, belgian yeast, wheat and spices. Flavour is spicy with the earthy notes as well as wheats, floral notes and belgian yeast. Soapy aftertaste with sweet subnotes. A fun experiment, but not really successful.

kappldav123 (6097) - GERMANY - MAR 11, 2012
Bottle looks really, really good. Beer in the glass very zippy, huge head. Starts strong, sweet, fine fruity. Not as dry and yeasty as other weizenbocks. Finish a bit milder, well balanced, still zippy-fruity. Fruity aftertaste. Great weizenbock!

750ml bottle from Bierzwerg

Pours dark orange with a small foamy white head. Aroma of fruity hops, yeast, earthy notes and spices. Taste is refreshing and fruity with citrusy notes, malts and spices. Finish is slightly sticky and bitter with some alcohol notes and earthy notes. Nice, well balanced and fruity weizenbock.

Bottle from systembolaget, at home. Helsingborg, March 2011.
Pours hazy orange with a large creamy head. Good looking! Fresh aromas of wheat, oranges and other tropical fruit. Small amount of hops and grass, not as prominent as I expected. Good refreshing taste, well balanced with a big fruity punch. Alcohol is well hidden behind this superb body. Enjoyed it a lot!

weihenweizen (3751) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - MAR 10, 2012
Refrigerated bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours golden with large bright white head. Some fluffy white lacing, medium body, weird oily texture that comes and goes, and light clove aroma. Taste is banana, bready clove, and some peppery hops. Alcohol is well covered. I rarely talk about price, but this is about twice as expensive as it should be.

hopdog (12451) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2012
Bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color with a small sized head. Aromas of floral hops, bananas, and cloves. Tastes of citrus, some bananas, and cloves. Hoppy bitter finish.

nbondi (203) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 8, 2012
Light hazy yellow amber with good off-white head. Pretty nose of banana, clove, bubblegum, lemon, and grass. Good carbonation, perfect mouthfeel. Herby taste with big bubblegum, clove, fresh baked white bread, and decent hop bitterness on finish. Medium-long finish with lasting carbonation tingliness and some hop bitterness. Much different than my impressions from trying it on tap, but equally enjoyable. Drink this.

IrishBoy (4185) - Bakersfield, California, USA - MAR 6, 2012
750 ml bottle from BevMo, Salinas. Nose is ripe banana, cloves, and yeasty bread, with hints of bubblegum and citrus. Murky yellow orange with a medium pale yellow head. Flavor is banana, light bitterness, cloves, and peppery spiciness.

hawthorne00 (3906) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 6, 2012
Bottle. Hazy gold with a white head. First sniff has vanilla, banana, cloves, then there’s some some cut grass and a little gooseberry. Taste is bready, then a grapey flavour (and texture) comes through. Grapes, grass and spice at the end. If the Hopfen-Weisse is _just_ hanging onto German ways whilst engaging with the newfangled, this one is revealing that the newfangled can be accommodated as an ornament. A fancy hefe rather than a Weizen Bock IMHO, but a really good beer.

KyotoLefty (10207) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 4, 2012
Bottle at Q-Brick. Huge nose of candied bananas, yeasty, not much hop aroma. Lovely orange-gold with lace. Candy banana flavor, nice acid edge, almost no real NS flavors, though a bit of peppery bitterness comes through. Great body, thick and oily. A great beer, but the hops don’t come through enough. No where near the Hopfen Weisse.
