Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and pour slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Aroma - a lot of malt, dusty wheat, some banana and fermented fruits, tart malt, yeast. Taste - identically with aroma, with some sweetness and bitterness, low carbonization. Good.

Can. Hazy orange big foamy head. Tangy spicy aroma. A little tang, lots of malt, dry biscuit finish. Not much in the way of banana and the yeast isn’t so dominant in the flavor. Watery finish. Not a very good example of the style, though looks were deceiving.

Buena cerveza de trigo, excelente aroma. Carbinatacion alta, espuma densa y duradera. Turbia con sedimento en la botella. Excelente opción para el verano. Aroma a plátano y algunos cítricos. Llenadora y sabrosa.

Note: 6/10

Bottle. Cloudy pale orange colour. Malty (wheaty malts, cereal, some caramel). Fruity (bitter orange, banana). Spicy (cloves). Yeasty and wheaty. Rather thin. Sweet-bitter throughout. (2008)

Barwa złota, piwo mętne. Piana wysoka ładnie oblepia szkło. W zapachu banany i goździki. W smaku dominuje banan, trochę goździka, pszenicy, słodko-kwaśne. Goryczka średnio niska.

Aroma of dried fruits and faint herbs. Taste is banana and clove with some fruitiness. Very nice and pleasant mouth feel. A fine beer!

Cloudy orange to yellow color. Yeasty and malty aroma. Some banana, light bread, biscuits. Starts quite sweet and malty. The yeast character is not as intense as many of the style. Has some spicy clove notes, a bit of banana, biscuits. Very effervescent and bright with a bit of acidity. Sadly, this dies quickly on the palate, finishing like water, making a good outdoor beer on a hot day. Overall, it is an above average hefeweissen, but lack the depth and complexity of some of the best ones.
