bartlebier (3982) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - OCT 16, 2012
33cl. bottle from BierZwerg of the Month Oct. sampler. - Very convincing, almost West Coast-style sweetish&fruity German (Bavarian) IPA. One-dimensional and light-medium bodied, bordering on soapy, but pleasantly drinkable and very tasty. Hard to believe this should carry 8,2 ABV. One of many, but certainly the most palpable and innovative (by conservative German standards) surprises coming out of the Schönram sampler box. Now lose the preposterous/boisterous "Bavarias Best" label as well as the outrageous 75cl bottle prices (€14,99 and up, glad I got the sampler!) and you have yourself a recipe for, if not world, then certainly Germany-wide craft beer domination (or at least qualification among the more diverse and innovative "old-world" brewers) that can compete with more level-headed DK, NL and BE trendsetters.

kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - OCT 13, 2012
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, orange-golden. Hoppy-dry aroma. Starts intense hoppy, very dry and very soapy. Much too unbalanced. Hoppy notes that dont fit together. Finish still unbalanced and much too soapy. Bad example of a German IPA.

heavy (2817) - Split, CROATIA - APR 30, 2012
21/11 0.75 l bottle, great thanks ogivlado for sharing! It poured hazy darker orange to brownish body with big ivory head. Orange aroma, very nice. Flavor is made of hop bitterness in very pleasant fruity way, little bit of caramel malt and some spices. Pretty full in body with long bittersweet finish. Perfectly balanced and very fine IPA although not very complicated. Well done!

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2012 240312: Amber color fine lacing head. Fresh hops and fruit aroma. High carbonated, but very good citrus hoppy flavor. Imagine a German IPA, and it’s even very good. also tasted 040212..
