COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Specially created for the Jubilee Year 2005! The Schönramer Weissbier stands out thanks to a classic old Bavarian step brewing process - traditional open fermentation followed by bottle or barrel fermentation yield a character which convince wheat beer connoisseurs and fans of our company conditioned fermenting beers. Right in aroma with tangy liveliness and velvety mouthfeel in taste. The dominant flavor components are found again in the taste. Schönramer weissbeer is unfiltered and is not conserved with heat. 12.7°P

The Sampler, NY bottle: pours dark hold with large white head. Aroma is banana and other ripe fruits. Somewhat sweet. Kind of spicy. Low hops. Not a bad example of the style.

Dark gold with an orange tinge and a dense frothy white head. Wheat, cereal and just a hint of spice in the aroma. Spicy weizen flavors come through with clove being most noticeable. Lots of carbonation on a light to medium body. Not sure why so many have marked this one low as it is very typical of the style.

hauxe (680) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - FEB 18, 2017
Pours hazy light orange from the bottle. Crazy amounts of visible carbonation. The aroma is all ripe banana. Taste is banana sweet, with a light apple tartness. Nice. Noticeable swings in the palate as the relatively high carbonation fizzles out. The beer felt relatively flat near the end, although my session with it did go a little over 30 minutes. I didn’t like the beer at the outset, changed my mind by minute 15, but began to have doubts again at the end. Okay.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2016 Bottle. Hazy golden colour with a large white head, nose is yeasty, phenolic and sweet with notes of cloves and honey, taste is more bready, sour and a little sweet but again a bit phenolic with just hints of banana and a very crisp finish for a hefeweizen, palate is a little watery, carbonation quite high.
