Bottle @ Lingua tasting, shared late after some hefty beers which may skew perceptions a bit. Pours near black with nice lacing. Roasty aroma, and savoury flavour, dark chocolate, soy, roasted malt, coffee. Had a booziness which tended to grow, showing some tart tannic oak, some chocolate. Perhaps lacked a full body to back up the heft of flavours but was smooth. Nice overall. andrewje41 (4532) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - JUL 5, 2016
Draft pour at Hop and Hound, listed as bourbon aged, and at 8.4%. Dark brown pour with a fading cola fizz head. Bold coffee grounds aroma. Flavor displays minimum bourbon feature for me, but it’s there. Good roasted malt character. Cool finish that takes a stab at being tart. Fun unique porter. Pretty good. yourilevesque (1829) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 29, 2016
Thanks to Matt for this brew! Facile à boire quoique lassante. neepsntatties (2076) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 21, 2016
On tap at Belmont Station. Colour...basic black with a corpulent tan head. Nose...cocoa ganache, Tootsie rolls and boozy oak. Palate...tangy, open and oaky with plenty of tannic nite and redolent Bourbon. Vanillin hits mid palate as does fruity notes of dried cane berries and hints of charred hardwood. The finish is long and dry and chocolatey. Hanuta06 (495) - Washington, USA - JAN 17, 2016
Serving: from tap at The Beer Junction.
Aroma: moderate date aroma.
Appearance: average-sized, creamy, light-brown, initial head with fair lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Dark-brown body.
Taste: moderately sweet and woody initial flavor and finish with average duration.
Palate: full body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: excellent. Aroma and flavor last until the last sip.

I had the Whiskey Barrel Aged version but I guess this is where people are rating that one... bottle shared by Ian at Lingua Cafe in Osaka. Schooner Exact Imperial Porter 8%
This black beer with a tan head has a nice aroma of maple, coffee and whiskey barrel. The taste is oak, maple, dark coffee, cooking chocolate. Really smooth with the roastiness in the finish. Ferris (17107) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 7, 2015
Draft - Bourbon boozy, coconut notes and sweet dark malts. Deep brown with a light brown head. Lots of bourbon and dark sweet roasty notes. Big bourbon bomb. mcberko (19869) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 6, 2015
On tap at WA Winter Beer Festival 2015, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of bourbon notes upfront, with vanilla and cocoa. Flavour is intense, with loads of bourbon and vanilla - not much else. The bourbon dominates but without being too boozy or harsh. Excellent stuff. Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Brown-black color with a medium thick khaki head that recedes gradually. Patchy lacing. Bourbon, oak and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of oaky bourbon, malt and coffee. The finish is oak with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall. WABeerFiend (426) - - JAN 17, 2015
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2016 Whiskey Aged Imperial Porter. Poured from a bomber into a tulip on 07.04.14. A: Sweet whiskey, vanilla, and chocolate. Whiskey and vanilla were very strong. A: 6 finger off-white head with an easy pour. The head stays. Midnight black body with some red. T: Vanilla, whiskey, and chocolate dominate. Roastiness, peanut, cinnamon, and grape are subtle. P: Creamy. Somewhat light, but good for a porter. O: This was easy to drink. The alcohol was nicely hidden, but it wasn’t a very big beer anyway. It had a constant 3 finger head throughout. I even saved some for the next day and it still had a 3 finger head. The whiskey was nice without overwhelming everything else. It was stronger in the aroma though. 184.108.40.206.17 Overall 4.1. REREVIEW: 2015 edition. It?s pretty much cola, cherry, roastiness, slight sourness, and some woodiness now. Halfway through the bottle, there was a snot-like substance. Gross.
