Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Dark brown colour. Aroma of malts, molasses and alcohol, a hint of fusel. Medium sweet flavour, molasses, malts and some fruit (dried and fresh), hints of oak. Much better than I feared.

gunnar (9689) - Sandnes, NORWAY - JAN 22, 2017
Shared bottle at RBHD. Pours almost black , no head. Aroma of dark fruits, figs, lots of alcohols. Taste is vinous, heavy alcohol, not a winner for me.

Fra flaske på RBHD-treff ombord på Fridtjofen jan-17: mørkebrun med kort skum. Vinøs, kvass og fruktig aroma og smak med svisker, rosiner og røde epler. Alkoholen varmer i magen. Ganske spiss, fruktsyrlig ettersmak med ganske mange rosiner. Ikke spesielt godt, men effektivt.

Holmen2 (4031) - NORWAY - JAN 21, 2017
Shared bottle at RB/HD on board Fridtjofen 21.01.17. Clear dark brown. Aroma of dark fruits, dates, figs and prunes. And lots of alcohol. Taste of of dry sherry and figs. Not particularly good.

0,33l flip-top bottle at home. BB 05/2016. almost black color, small off-white head. smells nutty, marzipan, coconut, some sherry, lightly boozy, caramel, dried fruits, raisins, some malty boozy notes. overall rather nice smell. full body, rather little carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of sherry, liqueurish, earthy, some peat notes, bit glueish, some booze, nutty, dried fruits, cherries, light plums, peppery. finishes lightly boozy and with some earthy bitterness and notes of peat, some nuts and dark fruits. rather good one, it was probably a good idea to store this one a bit over the BB date. still a bit boozy but overall enjoyable.

TizzleJizzle (792) - Garland, Texas, USA - OCT 8, 2016
6.75 oz bottle at Bavarian Grill Plano. Poured a murky brown with no head at all. Very boozy up front, caramel malts and dark fruit finish. Low-medium carbonation, oily body. Seems oxidized to me.

I tried three of these Schorschbock beers at one tasting and this one was the worst, which was surprising since it’s much less of a novelty beer. It’s cloudy, lighter in color than I expected w/ a small head. This stuff is not as terribly sweet as I expected but still sticky and hot. There’s a bit of banana in the nose plus a bunch of strange oxidized, ashy and grassy flavors. Really, this is a very odd and rather off tasting beer.

Bottle Aroma-fruits, alcohol, Appearance-amber, clear, white foam, Taste-light sweetness, medium sourness, Palate-full body, slick feel, average carbonation, long finish, Overall-very good

peponi (2011) - Strzelce Wielkie, POLAND - AUG 14, 2016
Aroma: like a red wine, malty. Appearance: dark amber color and creamy head. Taste: malty, red wine notes, esters, semi-dry. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation. Overall: Something went wrong, but in this for this beer is great.
