On tap @ Una. Looks nice this with a big creamy den beige lacing head on top of a new black colored body. On the nose I get a nice sweet fudge like sweetness with lots of dark roasted elements. Bitter chocolate, wood and traces of brown sugar. Sweet marshmallows also. Nice. Doesn’t taste all that good. Lots and lots of unripe green bananas here. Quite boozy and definitely stingy. Feels thick and oily in the mouth and it’s soft and prickling on the bubbles. It’s almost a little chalky also. Really burnt, like charcoal and there’s some phenolic nuances here. Could just be the fact that it’s the first glass tapped today, but still. I get a mild bitter chocolaty finish with hints of dry cocoa powder. A bit sharp on the booziness perhaps, yeah I know it’s a relatively high alcohol percentage on the, but still. Drinkable, but not something I need to have again really. 17.10.2014

200ml on tap at the brewpub. Spotty lacing from a tiny beige head. Deep jet black coloured body. Aroma with dark malts and dark fruits, nicely roasted. Dark malty flavours of liquorice and chocolate offset by a backdrop of citrus peels. Spiced bitterness to a lingering aftertaste. Full bodied. A nice one, really something for the Yuletide (Oslo 08.12.2014).

On tap at the brewpub. Very dark brown, tan head. Liquorice, fennel, salt. Intense flavor, balances between sweet and bitter on a high level. One of their very best.

Black as the deepest dungeon. Nice beige head that leaves a fine lacing down the glass. Lovely aroma with chocolate, coffee, mild fruity and some oak. Thick black liquid. Nice body. Fine balance between sweetness and bitterness. Creamy texture. Mellow and tasty stuff. Chocolate, some oak, coffee and some fruity notes. Lovely impy.

Nydelig duft av kaffe, bek, sjokolade og vanilje. Mørk brun, nesten sort farge. Tykt brunt skum. Fruktig smak sammen med kaffe og sjokolade. En anelse chilli skarphet i ettersmaken.

03.10.2014, tap @ UNA:

Small light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, caramel, butterscotch, grass, dark malts, sour coffee, alcohol, cardboard, hay. Taste is very harsh boozy, fusel, moonshine, harsh grass, harsh hops, cardboard, thinner, wood. Longlasting harsh bitterness, watery boozy mouthfeel. Holy crap on a cracker!!

On tap at Schouskjelleren. Black as the night is what it looks like down here in the cellar. A rather small, but lasting, beige head is present on top. Aroma of roasted malts with cocoa, dark dried fruits and hints of spices and wood. Medium sweet with nice roasty flavours and a mild but balanced bitterness. Smooth, well balanced and quite easy to drink. Tasty autumn beer.
