On tap at Schouskjelleren, october 1st 2013. Cloudy light brown body, small white head. Aroma of caramel, spice and fruit, taste is sweet with honey and caramel, fruity hops, and a spicy yeast finish. Pleasant body and a matching distinct bitterness. Sweet but short aftertaste. On tap @ Schouskjelleren. It’s most definitely cloudy this! In color it’s dark orange golden and it has a small lacing just off-white head. They aroma has a nice orange zesty bitterness with yeast, cardboard, grønnsåpe and sweet wheat. Quite interesting. It actually tastes like champagne. It really does! Slightly sourned, almost dry white wine. It’s quite soft on the carbonation and gliding oily in the mouth. Having a hard time understand that this really seriously tastes like white wine/champagne. White grapes, lots and lots of yeast, some pretty hard sweetness and medium bitterness in the finish. Medium shiny offwhite head. Hazy opaque orange body. Spicy banana aroma with yoghurty notes. Sweet spicy herbal taste with honey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish-sweet spicy herbal chewing gum aftertaste with sugary caramel notes. Not really bad, but definitely not a typical Belgian trippel. (0.2l draft at brewpub.) 200ml, 9.2 % abv, tap at the brewpub. One big patch at the surface. Hazy blond body. Sweet malt-fruity nose, noticeable alcohol. Dried fruity flavours mixed with malty sweetness and herbal hops. A slightly cloudy gold, the aroma was gym socks & peanuts? Cheesy? Not appetizing. The taste matched the smell, weird, sour, nutty & just plain odd. This batch was off, horrible. I couldn’t finish it.

From tap @Olympen, as Schouskjelleren Trippel. Unclear yellow golden body. Low-sized white head. Initial aroma of fruit esters, sweet honeyed malts and almonds, offset by a light sting of alcohol. Quite full. Juicy, almost succulent mouthfeel. Sweet-flavored. Both alcohol sweetness and malt sweetness. Light toffee-like malt flavor, a quite edgy spicy/herbal note, and some mellowing fruit tones. Some sharp-ish and alcoholic tones, otherwise a decent take on a Tripel. Appearance: Hazy or almost cloudy yellow color with a white head that leaves an ok lacing.
Aroma: Mild citric, fruity, light spicy and some yeast.
Palate: Medium + body. Slightly sweet, and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oily texture
Taste: Mild banana when the temperature got higher. Fruity, mild citric, yeast and some spices. Well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: Lovely and a perfect # 50.
