3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Olympen. Deep, slightly hazy amber with a fat, creamy tan head. Aroma is slightly skunky, floral, a bit fruity, some clean bready malts, a little grassy and citric.. Feels like there are british hops in this one, I’m thinking EKG. Well balanced, solid bitter finish that leads to a semidry finish. Nice length. Light bodied, medium carbonation. This is good, but definitely straightforward stuff. A nice thirst quencher, probably good with food aswell, but it’s not a brew to sit down to sip and analyze for half an hour. Clean and well brewed though.
In short: A caramelized citrusy IPA with a superb freshness character. Highly refreshingdaje (4436) - NORWAY - SEP 4, 2012
How: Tap at Olympen, Oslo Norway
The look: Partly cloudy amber body topped by a large dense beige head with good retention and leaving an enormous amount of lacings on the glass. Good looking beer
In long: Nose is fresh citrusy hops (oranges come out strong) with strong grassy notes. Taste has toasted biscuity malts, crisp tasty caramel, assertive citrusy hops (oranges and bitter grapefruits), a nice tartness coming from the grapefruit flavor as well as some lemony/citric notes. Overall freshness sensation, bright and vibrant. Refreshing like a blond IPA but as nourishing as a caramelized golden IPA. Another superior offering by Schouskjelleren, definitely my favorite Norwegian brewery. And once again I’m rating a Schouskjelleren higher than everybody else, maybe I’m overrating this brewpub, just because I’m perfect doesn’t mean I never make mistakes... actually it does… ho well, so I guess this means you guys suck ass at reviewing beers. Sorry.

Hazy amber. Aroma is sweet, malty and spicy. Flavour has slightly roasted malts and is peppery and yeasty. A full hoppy, bitter finish and a hint of smoke. visionthing (5363) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 24, 2012
Sampler on tap at Schouskjelleren. Pours slightly hazy light amber with a white head. Aroma of citrus and malt with lots of hops. Nice and fruity and more hoppy than expected. Reminds me of pale ale. Quite dry and slightly bitter finish. Cunningham (7961) - Halden, NORWAY - FEB 23, 2012
