On tap at Schouskjelleren. Almost clear, glowing deep amber with a quite dense and lasting off-white head with good lacings. Lovely hoppy aroma with pine, citrus and tropical fruits agains a solid malt base with just a hint of caramel. Complex and very well balanced. Sweet, fruity and piney with a more citrussy, dry and bitter finish. Lasting aftertaste with grapefruit. The name of the beer is quite fitting, someone has been digging deep in Santa’s hopsack. Lovely hopped IPA with well integrated alcohol. Excellent IPA and certainly one of the best beers I have tasted from Schouskjelleren so far. Wouldn’t mind a couple of bottles of this one for Christmas.
Taster, batch 2, 6.7% abv, tap at the brewpub. Firm off-white head leaving spotty lacing to the glass. Cloudy, apricot coloured body. Fresh and dried fruits to the nose. Has got a succulent taste of mid-sweet oranges with earthy malts beneath. Nice clean bitter ending. Easy to drink and easy to like (Oslo, 10.12.2012). larsga (7625) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 16, 2012
Small offwhite head. Hazy deep amber body. Resiny tropical fruit aroma with wooden gooseberry notes. Dry-sweet resiny spicy tropical fruit taste with wooden grassy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, sharpish mouthfeel. Dryish spicy perfumy tropical fruit aftertaste with orangey mealy notes. Nice, highly drinkable, full of character. (0.25l draft at brewpub.) Lovely IPA. Frim malty body, seducing pine and harbs, crisp dry finish. A benchmark beer. Get it while you can.
