3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From tap @Schouskjelleren. A medium-sized blond foamy head, upon a dim, straw-yellow body. Sweet-scented with some floral and light citrussy hops up front. Soft malts in the aroma, too, added by a hint of mild spices. Taste is on the sweet side for a Kölsch, but is clean and has a refined, soft and rounded malt character. Prominent lemonade-ish fruitiness, along with a noticable fruity bitterness. If not thin, quite light in body. Light sharp and spicy endnotes. Lacks some depth, but drinks good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy light orange with a big, rocky, lumpy offwhite head, copious amounts of lace. very fresh hoppy aroma. Floral and fruity, loads of sweetness here. Apricots, tropical fruits in general, sweet citrus. An odd sort of berry syrup kind of note coming through as well. Very nice. Well balanced palate where the fruity sweetness gets cleansed well by the finishing bitterness. which turns it fairly long and dry. Light bodied, well rounded but ample carbonation. I haven’t had too many glasses of kölsch in my life, so I don’t know how well this is suited to the style. It strikes me as close to an APA, but sweeter. What I do know is that I thoroughly enjoyed it, and was glad Schous made a lighter beer that actually tasted great, which they have failed to do so far in my opinion. It might also be that the first day of proper summer lightened my mood so much that this is gonna get a rating far beyond what it’s worth. I’ll just have to revisit and check later on.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught, 4.8% abv, at the brewpub. Moderate white head leaving spots around the sides of the glass. Light golden body, partly cloudy. Mild aroma of fruity hops. Dry lemon in flavour along with lighter notes of spices and sweet wheat. Hints of yeast. My be not a typical Kölsch, but it has anyway got a fresh summary touch. Easy to drink (Oslo, 24.05.2011
