COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet, tart, beautiful and well-balanced, Amelia is the most recent addition to our Schramm’s Mead family. In the early 1880’s Santa Cruz fruit breeder James Harvey Logan interbred Aughinbaugh blackberries with Red Antwerp raspberries. The Loganberry was born. Over a century later, in 2016, so was Amelia.

Sampled from the tap at the meadary. Pours a clear deep ruby red with no head whatsoever. Aroma has dry and tart berry with a hint of dry honey underlying. Flavor has the same dry and bitter berry combination but more honey coming through.

At the source. Pours light raspberry color. Aroma is sweet black currant, blackberry, raspberry. cherry, I guess loganberry (which I'm told is a blackberry raspberry mix). Flavor is sweet raspberry, blackberry, currant, Cherry. Wow, that's awesome.

Bottle thanks to Matt! Huge props for giving me a bottle of mead named after our oldest. Pours clear burgundy, no head, no lacing. Aroma is heavy berries, blackberry, raspberry. Flavor is medium sweet, some tartness. Medium body, lingering tanginess. Quite tasty.

Reddish purplish pour, icewine-like legs. Big time berry in the aroma and taste, honey, sweet buy not at the cloying level. Just exceptional mead.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2017 Bottle. Pours a clear ruby red, wine coloured beer, no head out carbonation. Aroma of blackberries, raspberries, honey and booze. Flavor is sweet, very dry, tannins, the red fruits overwhelm the honey in a great way. Awesome balance, long, dry sweet aftertaste. Very nice!!

Pour into wine glass at the meadery, dark reddish purple pour, still pour, aroma brought notes of dry berry, cherry, raspberry into some honey, floral, vanilla, tannic notes. Taste was spice, blackberry, cherry into floral and fruity honey, some tannic notes, tart berry comes through finishing dry, slightly leathery.
