COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schremser Roggenbier is the rediscovery of a beer speciality, which was traditional up until the 15th century when it was then banned. Top-fermented, Schremser Roggen stands out due to its intensive full-bodied taste. Slightly fruity to start then pithy with a long aftertaste. 11.9

Pours a hazy, dark amber color, topped with a medium sized white head. Aroma is mildly grainy, bready, some caramel and spices, perhaps a bit fruity. But mild in general. Malty and bready taste, slightly sweet, grainy. Hint of bitterness, and a bit metallic. Not bad, not good. Something in between. Cant really decide.

.33l pour from chilled tap into a shaker pint at Brickermakers in Vienna. Hazy and orange with a fluffy white head. Great creamy medium body with a little rye nibble on the end. Citrus and light malt on the nose. Taste is a bit muted. Citrus up front with orange sweetness in the middle and a faint rye aftertaste. Tastes like a decent pale ale made for a hot day in the sun. Not as much spiciness as Id like in a rye beer. Pleasant and drinkable, but nothing amazing.

Nice on the nose and eye, but unfortunately just not too complex when it comes to the mouth....and a bit heavy on the carbonation. It would be nice on a hot day as there is basically no after-taste.

330 ml bottle as part of the "Culturbrauer Craft Bier Box".
Dark amber, brownish, hazy body, with a medium, fastly dissipating, off-white head.
Typical rye aroma, with bread, bubblegum, banana, spices, ripe fruits.
Taste is quite light, with bread, bubblegum, ripe fruits, banana, spices, some vanilla.
Quite light, slightly oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes sweet, bready, malty, spicy, slightly bitter hoppy.

Good, quaffable beer. The nose is nice, quite inviting, the taste is too light though. Drinks very easy. Nice example of a Roggenbier, but nothing special.
