3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 1, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 2, 2013 Vom fass at the brewery in Nankendorf.
Clear dark brown with a short, large-bubbled tan head.
A rich, roasty and hoppy Dunkler Bock with remarkable cleanliness.
Nuts, toasted dark bread / crusts, mineral water, salty licorice, molasses sweetness.
Full body, rich melanoidins, sweetness and bitterness well-balanced.
Peppery and spicy hop bitterness, washing, quenching acidity.
A savory pastry in a glass. Wonderful hop and malt expression, though more in the mouth than the nose.

Bottle. Hazy brown, off white lace. Spicy roast, light fruity chili and smoky cheesy aroma. Garden earthy, herbal, fruity. Medium body, mellow, could be chewier, but absolutely top notch.

motelpogo (8031) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - JUN 26, 2012
Bottle, picked up at in Nuremberg at closing time. one of the better blocks I’ve had lately - prickly, hints of peach and pear and vanilla but with much more grassy hop character than most bocks, and all the better for this fact

Erzengel (9760) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JAN 12, 2014
Vielen Dank an wastl!

Moravius (1516) - Berlin, GERMANY - MAR 1, 2016
Flasche (50 cl) vom Landbierparadies, Nürnberg. - Tiefstes Kupferrot, klar, kremiger Schaum. Klasse.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2017 (bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a medium-sized foamy off-white head. Slightly sweet dark malty, slightly roasty aroma with caramel, chocolate and a shy hoppy note. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Strong malty, slightly roasted taste with light notes of caramel, chocolate and berries; sweet-bitter finish with a delicate herbal hoppy blend. Another good Bock from Franconia.

Geiserich (4660) - Linz, AUSTRIA - FEB 8, 2008
Bottled: Ruby red to brown color. Aroma is very malty, sweet, chocolate cake and bitter chocolate. Flavor has first a very balanced sweet/sourly mixture, then raisins, rumplums and lots of dark chocolate. Intensive roasted malt flavor, roasted malt bitterness, chocolate beans, hops and some coffee notes in a bitter balanced finish. Good one.
