22 ounce bottle purchased at Bel Air in Woodland, CA. The aroma has some cocoa notes with some husky tannic aromas, too. Light melanoidin character. Weird. Cereal. Mild to moderately transparent dark mahogany body present with a medium, light tan head. This starts with some pretty straight forward burnt, charry, and burnt popcorn malt flavors. This essentially lingers throughout, just like burnt popcorn lingers for a long while. Astringent and metallic, too. Hardly drinkable. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 15, 2014
Bomber. Poured deep brown with a quickly-formed tan head. The aroma picked up sweet vanilla and cocoa notes paired with lightly burnt roast.. nothing stellar, but welcoming. The flavor found tangy burnt roast and carbonation on the tip of the tongue, with vanilla and blended chocolates following.. dry roasted cocoa and lactic notes on the finish. Medium-bodied with heavy carbonation on the palate.. a little too much bitter roast at times.. aiight overall. Cory (372) - , California, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Draft. Smoke and a light sweet malt aroma. The medium body and long burnt finish just build on itself making the smoke characteristics dominate the whole experience. Personally it seems the malts were over roasted and minimize any possibility for complexity or balance.
