Very deep brown or black color with a brown head. The taste is maild roasted malts with caramel notes. Comes off a little thin. SDbruboy (1864) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 2, 2003
6/19/03, draft, Berlin. I've noticed that everything is better in an enjoyable context - in this case a wonderful German restaurant with good company. Dark brown lager, almost opaque with large white head. Aroma is heavily toasted malts, caramel, apple, oranges and balancing hops. Roasted sweet malt flavor with honey, smoke and citrus. Medium body and creamy in the mouth. jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 27, 2003
Light roasted aroma. Dark brown, light brown head, fair lace. Very thin, few flavors, little roasted. Short finish. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - JAN 9, 2003
Faint roasted malt aroma. Opaque body. Large, light-brown head; mostly lasting. Good lace. Very light flavor for a dark beer. Has that non-pasteurized, yummy German draft beer finish. A little too light in body, but worth a quaff. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 7, 2002
really boring. nothing remotely shwarzbier in the flavour. just some sweet malt and a hint of hops.

dark brown colour, few head, very toasted, black chocolate aroma, strong body, dry and bitter with a long roasted finish - a beautiful exemple of the style omhper (25113) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 14, 2002
Near black with rich beige head. Coffee aroma. Dry and a bit roasty, although perhaps not as malty as I would like. Medium bitterness. A decent example of the style. Beloved Beer (278) - California, USA - JUL 14, 2002
drank it from the can so my appearance rating may be off a little. but a simple enough style that a glass shouldnt make all that much difference. i foudn this one pretty good. malty and smooth. started out a little rough but got smoother as it warmed.
