hackobock (4007) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 8, 2015
December 8, 2015. Bottle at home, best before july 28, 2016. Received in a trade with koplamp, thanks!
Hazy yellow with a large quite creamy and slowly dissipating white head. Aroma is peach, apricots, floral, hints of almond and grass. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter, some alcohol notes. Finish is sweet fruity with peach, pear, quote dry grassy, floral and nutty bitterness, quite dry, some alcohol notes as well. Medium bodied, average carbonation.
Decent, fruity, floral, a bit too sharp finish, somewhat unrefined.

Alengrin (5249) - BELGIUM - OCT 17, 2015
Third (and allegedly last) version of this beer. Bottle from Fontana in Sint-Niklaas. Thick, cobweb-lacing, moussy, egg-white head over a clear, pure golden blonde coloured beer with minuscule yeast bits floating. Fragrant aroma of lemon blossom, green tea, limoncello, freshly cut nettles, biscuit, fresh pineapple, baker’s yeast, white bread, unripe pear, banana-flavoured bubblegum, hints of freshly toasted bread, soapy starfruit, raw potato, gin and freshly cut grass. Crisp taste, fairly clean for a Belgian tripel but unable to hide its banana-like Belgian yeastiness (isoamylacetate), some bubblegum even, sweet with gooseberry and pineapple sourisness, fairly strong carbonation, supple and lean mouthfeel, nice bready and lightly biscuity malty backbone, malt sweet finish balanced with grassy and lightly spicy hops but not really bitter enough to eradicate the banana sweetness; some wodka-like alcohol as well, as a warming glow after swallowing without becoming too astringent (though it still could have been better hidden even for this style). Clean, crisp tripel, technically well made with interesting fresh herbal qualities and restrained estery fruitiness; just a tad too sweet perhaps, could be better with a dash more hops. Still, this is another accomplished beer from this interesting Flemish brewery. Too bad I missed the second version of it.

thanatosti (1678) - Culemborg, NETHERLANDS - SEP 23, 2015
33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Clear dark golden with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity. Taste is bittersweet and reminding me more of an imperial lager than a tripel. Quite boozy as well. Not very convincing.
