The_Osprey (8682) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2016
December 2016 - Swing top bottle share at Pig’s Ear BF, Hackney Round Chapel. As ’Schwaben Bräu Volksfestbier’. Thanks to Harrisoni for this. Aroma is buttery, sweetcorn, grainy. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is light buttery malt, grainy, some sweetcorn. Semi-sweet, light bitterness. Balanced and drinkable but quite basic. A decent enough beer but really not standing out from the countless German lagers you can choose from. (2.9)

Bottle at Pigs Ear 2016 - London. Cheers! Pours perfectly clear golden yellow with a creamy, pure white head. Sweet cereal and pale bread in the nose. Light sweet flavour with more cereal, simple sugar, faint citrus, straw. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Finaihes fairly dry, with licks of paper, crispy cereal, straw, pale grains. So so.

Bottle thanks to Ian. A clear mid golden coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is nice sweet cereal grains, corn, honey, grassy noble hop character. Flavour is composed of semi and tangy grains, cereal, honey, tangy apple, . Palate is semi sweet tangy, highish carbonation, nice sweet malts.

Bottle at Pigs Ear Festival 2016. Clear gold lasting cream head. Some cereal. A pale marzen. Some sweet pale malts. Some decent hops. In fact as my palate adjusted i started to like it. A touch over carbonated. Just a litte puke sweetness. But otherwise a decent strongish blond lager marzen. Ok .

Bottle form aldi , some grassy hops, and lager malt on the aroma. Very clear and clean tasting beer, with a light and bitter finish

500ml bottle from Aldi. Bright gold body, white head. Bready aroma. Somewhat vegetal with malt to the fore. Lively carbonation. Full bodied. Good Marzen, I enjoyed it.

ForlornHope (533) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - OCT 2, 2016
Bottle from Aldi. Nice golden colour with a white head and good lacing. Sweet, bready aroma with a little grassy, floral hop. Sweet to start with a little balancing bitterness. Malt backbone with herbal hop notes and the bread notes continue. Fairly high carbonation but rich and satisfying on the palate.

BlackHaddock (7562) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 28, 2016
500ml Flip-top bottle from my local Aldi into an old half-litre ’Schultheiss’ glass at home on 28th Sep 2016. Drinking it while looking out the patio doors hoping it is going to rain, or I will have to mow the lawn when I finish the glass. Anyway onto the beer: cracking ’pop’ on opening. Golden bodied, clean and clear, on top a thick white foaming blanket that hung around. Aroma is weak, body is soft on the palate, taste is subtle: slight herbal notes in both the nose and flavour. More malty than hoppy, but not a huge amount of either to be honest. I do not think for one minute that this is the same beer I had many years ago at the Cannstatter Volksfest.
