Quack-Duck (9486) - Down South, GERMANY - JUL 9, 2013
bottle from kappldav123, thanks! Cloudy golden yellow, mid-sized white head. Whetay and yeasty with a shy fruity touch. Not as banana-ey as many others, more old-fashioned. Very nice and really moreish.

The bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, modest turbid, nice head. Starts malty dry with some interesting caramel notes. Not too roasty. Modest dry background. Finish well balanced, malty-earthy. Nice!

Bottle. Orange blonde, cloudy. Yeast and a hint of orange in the aroma. Fruity yeasty flavor. Ther yeastiness can be somewhat nasty bitter. This beer promised more than it delivered.

Grima (2394) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - FEB 1, 2011
Yellow ocher color, good cloudy with a flat, creamy head. The smell is very sour, slightly yeasty. Starts creamy-yeasty, with a distinctly sour note, which drags on very long in the aftertaste. In the center part, the acidic note stays dominant, even if it goes back a little. The finish is yeasty acidic, coupled with a subtle fruity sweetness!

(bottle) Cloudy, orange to golden colour with a big and fluffy white foam. Sweet wheaty malty aroma with light notes of ripe bananas and a nasty sweat-like (old hops?) note which fades away after some minutes. Slightly sweet flavour with a tinge of bitter tartness, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Wheat-malty taste with a rather restrained fruit-character of banana; slightly sweet wheat-malty and minimal sour-fruity finish with shades of cloves and sweat[y hops]. This one is hard to judge. Initially it was awkward, later I liked it. Let´s say it has some character. BTW: the real old-fashioned Bavarian Wheats are/were hoppy. 19.VIII.10

Bottle 500ml.

Murky medium orange color with grey notes, a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy yeasty, banana, overripped fruit, butterscotch, phenol notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery - creamy, carbonation is soft. [20100813]
