Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, nuts, husks, grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of metal and rotten fruit.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, unclean.
Light to medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, metallic.

Aroma: plenty of chocolate in there. Mild soft nose, bit grainy soft barley feel. 6+
Appearance: copper-red brown with large fine creamy top. Thick, dense, presentable. Neat lace. 4+
Palate / Taste: medium light bodied. Very soft with gentle carbonation. Creamy mild chocolate with chewy texture. Too soft, buttery like feel.
Aroma was kind odf weak. Mostly malty. Light head that didn’t linger very long. It’s color was dark amber, reminding me of Dos Equis. Aroma is dried leaves and tea with elderberry accents. Clear rust, medium yellow head. Strong tea flavor, astringent. Elderberry is ever present. Mouthfeel is fizzy. This isn’t one of my favorite styles, but this one had personality. There are other detractors but at least this somewhat distinctive.

500 ml bottle poured a clear brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of toasted malt, carmel, molases, raisin and light spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Dark reddish/mahogany, beige head, somewhat dense, fades, returns with a swirl. Spotty lacing. Really dig aroma. Doughy dark bread, big malty decoction remnants, much like caramelized sugar/brittle. Light burnt/roasted character. Flavor on par, bready, melanoidins, caramel brittle. Really clean. Soft billowy mouthfeel. Very easy drink. Well done. 500 mL bottle from Beer Run. Pours a clear dark copper color with a large fizzy tan head. Poor head retention. Aroma of grain, toasted grain, nuts, dark fruits. "Schweinsbräu Dunkel". Brewed by Riedenburger Brauhaus. 500ml bottle. 08.09.2012.
It pours a deep reddish brown with a fizzy off-white head that leaves no lacing.
The smell is nice. Some floral noble hops mix with a nice bready maltiness with some caramel and dark fruit.
The flavor is good. A bit sweet for a dunkel. It has a lot of sugar, caramel, and cocoa. There is a nice breadiness, a slight tang, mineral water character, and some fruit. The hops linger in the background with a hint of floral flavor and a slight little pinch of bitterness.
The only thing I would say is that it is a bit thin so it has good drinkability but not really mouthfeel. It would be good in the summer.
