Bottle poured into a dimple mug. A big root beer like head takes some patience and a few pours before the bottle was emptied. I smell bready malt and soggy grain. No carbonation in the mouth and the feel is watery. Cocoa flavor is not big but is prominent. Applesauce and wet grass. Fruit is almost hidden. This is kind of ho hum.

Malty with hops layered throughout. Not to much, but certainly present. Perfumed, nutty and a little bit of berry fruit poking out. emquam (3) - - DEC 7, 2011 does not count
This beer is dark brown in colour with reddish highlights. Nose is slightly earthy. Taste is immediately honeyed and malty, perfumy with a hit of almond and cherry. Malt dominates as you would expect though some bitter hops do peep though. TheBeerGod (6233) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - DEC 1, 2011
Bottle - labeled Schweinsbrau Dunkel with an ABV of 5%. Cola colored brown with a short, fizzy tan head. Aroma is caramel, grains, sweet malt, and toasted dark bread. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, grains, and toasted bread. Body is medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet malts with some roasted nuts. Flavor is a little bland but there is some caramel with a roasted malt. Just not enough there to make this a good beer. So-so dunkel and maybe this is old since the last rating was in 2010. pivnizub (10672) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - FEB 5, 2010
Bottle (Dank an Jonas!): Reddish-amber coloured, slowly collapsing off-white head; dark malt, roasted malt, nuts and some dried fruits in the nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; slightly lingering - almost a bit smoky - drier roast-malty finish. Good......... KimJohansen (10509) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - JAN 31, 2010
Unclear dark amber with almost no head. Aroma was sweet with roasted malt, caramel and dark fruits. Flavour was sweet with roasted malt, caramel and chocolate notes. Finished sweet. MoritzF (9979) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - JAN 27, 2010
(swing top bottle) Hazy, slightly ruby brown coloured hue with floaties and a big and beige, also dense foamy head. Sweet and yeasty toasty malty aroma with notes of caramel, dark chocolate and shades of hops. Slightly bitter flavour, rather light bodied with a soft carbonation. Toasty malt-accented taste with caramel, a whiff of chocolate and rounded herbal notes; moderately dry hoppy and toasty bitter finish. 27.I.10 Ungstrup (37937) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2009
Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of fruit, and so is the flavor, though added notes of caramel and bread, leading to a dry bready finish.
