Malty with hops layered throughout. Not to much, but certainly present. Perfumed, nutty and a little bit of berry fruit poking out. Styles (2016) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - JAN 12, 2012
Dark reddish/mahogany, beige head, somewhat dense, fades, returns with a swirl. Spotty lacing. Really dig aroma. Doughy dark bread, big malty decoction remnants, much like caramelized sugar/brittle. Light burnt/roasted character. Flavor on par, bready, melanoidins, caramel brittle. Really clean. Soft billowy mouthfeel. Very easy drink. Well done. Looks like I am in the minority on this one, but pretty solid IMO. emquam (3) - - DEC 7, 2011 does not count
This beer is dark brown in colour with reddish highlights. Nose is slightly earthy. Taste is immediately honeyed and malty, perfumy with a hit of almond and cherry. Malt dominates as you would expect though some bitter hops do peep though. jonas (8278) - Garching close to the monks, GERMANY - APR 20, 2003
Honeyish yeasty and burned notes.
Brown amber low head.
Burned chokolaty taste
with the same refreshing fizzy, grassy bitterhop finish as the helles.
Medium body - very nice beer. Hildigöltur (5103) - København, DENMARK - JAN 20, 2006
Draught at the brewpub. Reddish brown coloured. Sweet and malty with notes of milk chocolate and coffee. Also quite fruity and rather nutty. Soft mouthfeel. Complex and nice.

Pot stopper with painted label: tasted in the Kaufhof Münster. Pours a big off-white frothy head. Orange brown color, just a bit hazy. Caramelly aroma and flavor with licorice. Little hopbitterness, little carbon. Maybe a bit on the sweet side, but a very nice malty beer. crossovert (14128) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 28, 2011
"Schweinsbräu Dunkel". Brewed by Riedenburger Brauhaus. 500ml bottle. 08.09.2012.
It pours a deep reddish brown with a fizzy off-white head that leaves no lacing.
The smell is nice. Some floral noble hops mix with a nice bready maltiness with some caramel and dark fruit.
The flavor is good. A bit sweet for a dunkel. It has a lot of sugar, caramel, and cocoa. There is a nice breadiness, a slight tang, mineral water character, and some fruit. The hops linger in the background with a hint of floral flavor and a slight little pinch of bitterness.
The only thing I would say is that it is a bit thin so it has good drinkability but not really mouthfeel. It would be good in the summer. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 2, 2012
Bottle: The aroma consists of toffee, fruit, and light nuts. It pours a transparent orangish-brown sith a two fingers off white head that leaves behind some sporadic webbing for lacing. The flavor starts with toffee and light fruit. The finish has light-moderate nuts and light tootsie roll notes. It has mild carbonation and a somewhat thin mouthfeel. Overall, flavor is solid but mouthfeel leaves a little to be desired. jcos (1855) - Maryland, USA - FEB 25, 2013
