500 ml. bottle. Light haze in this golden beer. Plenty of carbonation floats up. A thick white head that leaves light lacing. The nose is malt, grain, and soft European hops. The taste is a bit bready with a hint of sharp hops that provide a biting bitterness. A bit of fruit and yeast are noted. Some cereal and grass, too. A decent session beer. This brings me back. This is the quintessential Bavarian Lager. Living in Europe for how long and getting so bored with most German beers, this one stands out as really bringing the Quality back. emquam (3) - - DEC 7, 2011 does not count
Grainy malt character, with smooth grassy butter in the mouth. The hops give it a balanced bitter-lemon cleanliness that lasts through to the end. Finish is refreshing and slightly vanilla, leading to a long hoppy, malty but clean aftertaste. TheBeerGod (6292) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - DEC 1, 2011
Bottle. Golden bodied with a short, foamy white head. Aroma is malty and sweet with cereal grains and corn notes. Taste is slightly grassy with more sweet malt, grains and corn notes. Body is light-medium with a fizzy, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more grains, soft grassy notes, light honey, corn and sweet malt. thegreenrooster (4663) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 18, 2011

Half liter bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a hazy golden color with a thin fizzy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of grain and corn with a bit of nuttiness and a little bit grassy. The taste is pale grainy malts with herbal, grassy hops and a slight sweetness in the finish. Thin and watery. jcweaver (770) - VA Beach, Virginia, USA - NOV 11, 2011

Bügelverschlußflasche (courtesy of joss!): Hazy, lots of floaties visible, rather stable small white head, moderate honeyish-malty nose with a light hoppy background; light to moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, quite soft; short and light bitter-sweet finish. O.K., but a bit lame..... MoritzF (10234) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - JAN 19, 2010
(swing top bottle, Schweinsbräu Gold, 4.8% abv, brewed by Riedenburger) Hazy, golden coloured hue with lots of floaties and a short, slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet and bready cara-malty aroma with notes of biscuits and a tinge of herbal hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Cara-malty, bready and slightly biscuity taste with shades of honey and shy herbal hoppy notes, getting slightly stronger towards the medium-dry, malt-accented finish with shy herbal hoppy notes. Drinkable. 19.I.10 Dixen (1465) - Flagstaff, Arizona, USA - JAN 20, 2006
Draft at the brewpub. Bready maltyness in the nose, with some light grassy hops. Slight hazy yellow body with a small white head. Malty flavor, light bread with a nice pricly hop flavor.
