Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, grain), with notes of banana, clove, orange, dirt/dust, and rotten fruit. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, lightly alcoholic. An Ur-Weisse, how about that. This is my favorite style of weissbier, as they’re in the perfect sweet spot between helles weisse and dunkel weisse, but alas, this one’s pretty bad. The nose offers some nice notes but the sloppy malt character and off notes bring it down. The mouth experience is worse...dirty aftertaste, very light, very watery, very fizzy. Terrible head retention too. A drain pour.

Bottle 500 ml
Aroma: aromatic, crisp ,semi dry notes. Slight citrus noted , touch of orange , zesty. Clean. 7+
Appearance: amber-gold with large snowy fine top. Thick lace.
Palate / Taste: medium bodied. Soft front that afflicts all Schweinsbrau beers. Zesty follow up with muted finish. Aroma promised much more.

500 ml bottle poured a hazy amber with a lasting off white head. Aromas of wheat, yeast, clove and light banana. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of wheat, yeast, light clove and light banana with a smooth fnish.

Light banana nose. Clear amber, thick head. Even blend of banana and wheat bread flavor. Graham cracker finish. Not strong, but the subtle nuances are wonderful.

Capped bottle. A daker hefeweizen, tons of banana in the nose, huge clove in the flavor. Really carbonated.

Bottle @ home. Somewhat brownish, reddish orange, cloudy appearance with a small off-white head. Quite spicy yeasty, moderate clove, light banana, mild wheat malty aroma. Fairly high carbonation. Very spicy yeasty, mild wheat malty, light banana, moderate clove, somewhat bready, dull flavor. One of my least favorite examples of this style from Germany.

My least favorite style of beer, but this is well executed. The banana in the aroma stays into the palate, which is something I like.

The liquid is cloudy, the colour is pale brown. The low head is yellowish. On the nose, aromas of banana candy, earth, wheat sourness and green bananas. On the palate, sweet notes of fruit candy. Some dry mineral flavours. Roasted hints of toffee. The aftertaste is balanced with some yeasty flavors. Green bananas on the finish.

Bottle. Murky amber pour with a tall, foamy blond head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, soft banana, bubblegum and sweet malt. Taste is big wheat and bubblegum with banana notes, yeast, soft spice and sweet malt. Body is light-medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more wheat, bubblegum, fruit notes, light banana, yeast, soft citrus and light spice.

jcweaver (768) - VA Beach, Virginia, USA - NOV 18, 2011
Bottle. Pours a hazy, dark golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts and banana with hints of wheat and caramel. Flavor is light and wheaty with notes of banana and clove. Very light palate and fairly bland.
