Bouteille: Pale golden to golden, average - quite stable - white head, wheaty-yeasty nose with a lemony fruitiness; sweetish-sourish flavour, nearly medium bodied and pretty soft; mild lemony-wheaty finish. Nice and refreshing…

Koelschtrinker (21828) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - NOV 20, 2013
Milder, hefig herber Antrunk. Auch im Mittelteil wenig intensiv, noch weniger hefig, dafür etwas malziger. Milder, noch wenig hefiger Abgang. 8/9/9/9/7/9

Bottle, 500 ml,thanks to ThirstyBird! Into a weizen glass. ABV 5%
Amber orange colour on the body, hazy, good activity in it. On top is sitting a big white head, thick and soapy, with very good retention. Light lacing as I drink it.
Great aroma, fruity with banana notes, yeast, bubblegum at first although it seems to retreat quite soon.
Nice taste as well, unlikely other weizen beers I had this one doesn’t have the intense sweetness of the wheat but instead a fruitiness that makes it rather refreshing. Banana and clove on the aftertaste.
Medium thin body, good carbonation. Fairly dry finish.
Overall a really great weizen.

Thanks to Erzengel for the bottle! Pours a hazy yellow/orange color with a lofty white head. Smell is banana, fruit, clove, pepper. Taste is all of the above...pretty well balanced with all the flavors integrating well. Ends dry and fruity with some spice notes. Body is light with nicely structured crisp carbonation. This is a very nice Weizen.

Thanks to Erzengel for that one. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fruity-yeasty with hints of apricot. Finish well balanced, quite drinkable. Really nice!

50 cl bottle.
Very cloudy in the glass, nice smell of cloves and cream soda. The beer starts aromatic-fresh, nice yeast-characteristics (clove, a bit banana, fresh herbal notes). The aroma becomes more intensive, very smooth, slightly sweet, nearly no bitterness. Only at the end the hops come through a bit, but the herbal tone with the clove lasts till the end, where there is again the light vanilla tone, reminding of the smell of cream soda (but without the sweetness of a softdrink).
--> Great Weizen!

As I’m not the biggest fan of all these dull German Hefeweizens, especially the Bavarian ones, I was little bit afraid when opening this bottle, but out came a young, fresh Hefeweizen which was really quaffable, lively and enjoyable. Cloudy yellow-golden colour with steady head and medium body. Nose of fresh yeast. Taste of freshly made yeast dough which is set aside on the window shelf to rest, grass, mild hops, light malt and leaves. Hints of fresh fruits. This beer is a really nice change to the other German Hefeweizens and quite enjoy- and quaffable.

MoritzF (10129) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - MAY 31, 2013
(bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a big and cream-coloured foamy head. Distinctively banana-fruity and sourish wheaty aroma with hints of citrus, cloves and sulphur. Mildly sweet and slightly sour flavour, rather light bodied with a tame carbonation for a Hefeweizen. Plain wheat-character with loads of banana and notes of citrus, accompanied by a touch of cellar, sulphur; slim and slightly sweet and mildly sour finish with a shy clovy touch. A plain and slightly unclean Weizen. 28.V.13
