Bottle, caged and corked. Dark ruby color, fairly cloudy. Creamy color head. Pleasant aroma. Wine like aroma, barrel notes. Dark fruits. Low carbonation over the palate. Caramel notes in the flavor. clear brown, smooth brown head.
aroma of malts, booze, caramel, nuts, very well blended feel to the aroma at this age (2017) and not much oxidation. Flavor is malty, good woody bitterness, a very delicate dried fruity belgian yeasty note, almost going fresh fruity at times, palate is full. Although clearly drinkable now, i think it won’t do good to keep it longer. I haven’t tasted the base beer, but after having tasted this i’ll go track it down. complex and interesting.

Bouteille:Deep copper coloured, a bit unclear, stable medium-sized off-white head; mild to moderate sweet fruity (aka dried black berries) and caramelly nose with a port-vinous touch; moderate to solid sweet flavour not without a delicate acidity, medium to full bodied, unfortunately a bit sticky; chocolate and toffee in the fruity-vinous finish. 75cl bottle at home. Clearish dark brown with a small tan head. Medium to full body with low to moderate carbonation. Pretty sweet with some bitter tones. Backlog rating. 75cl bottle at Caspar tasting, London. Thanks to Peter for this one! It pours a rich copper / brown color with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet and boozy, with notes of ripe plums, figs marmalade, toffee, vanilla. Taste is again sweet and finishes quite boozy, with notes of tart tatin, vanilla, ripe apricots, figs and plums, marsh mallow. Medium to full bodied with ok carbonation. Bottle... Pours cloudy and brown with no head. The aroma is big-time restrained, but there are faint notes of singed caramel, sweet wine, a sliver of raw beef and fresh sweat. Full-bodied with modest carbonation. The flavor offers some sweet caramel and is mildly vinous. This is a strange way to treat a Scotch ale. Bottle at Kick. Red dark amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is fruit, malt, wood, vinous. Flavour is dry, fruit, vinous, oak, sugar, caramel, wine, malt, wood. Full body. Very nice beer.
